It went something like "I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling".

or they could google the lyrics themselves and get the answer in about 35 seconds (depending on connection speed)

Not always that easy, I was looking for the title of a song a few days ago and even though I remembered several lines I didn't get any useful results from google.

"Gotta make you understand"

I'd known the guitar riff from Blur's Song 2 but only found out the name of the song in physics lesson a few weeks ago. Couldn't remember the words for the life of me.

there's also one I heard the other day - "We've known each other for so long", I think.

The words for Song 2 are easy, just go "Wooooooooohooooooooooo!" and a lot of people will be able to tell you which song it is.

Oh and: "Never gonna make you cry"

The problem is, lots of people couldn't. You'd say "do you know that song with the guitar? goes 'woohoo!' in it" and they'd say "damn, I know the one you mean, it's pretty good, but I don't know what it's called".

or say goodbye?

What the hell were you doing listening to Blur in physics? If it makes you feel any better, it took me about six months after first hearing the song to find out who it was by.

Back in the days when I used to listen to the radio, there was this song that would play on K-Rock that I liked a lot. The problem is I don't remember the lyrics, I don't know who sang it, and I don't remember the name of it. I'm not even sure I would recognize it anymore.

My only clues:
3:44 to 3:48 in this video sound like it. "Everything Zen" generally is too hard for the song, but those few seconds have always made me think of it.
I think Gavin DeGraw is probably the singer. If not, he sounds like him.

Lol Glycerine, perhaps? That's what the riff sounds like to me.

 It's rather ironic that you already had the band picked out. It also probably doesn't say much about the band that the riffs sound so similar, but I've always had a soft spot for Glycerine. Who would have thought this thread would have actually accomplished something... I'm happy to have helped.

Just to be a prick, again, and again, but it's Gavin Rossdale, not Gavin DeGraw.

I was going to let that one slide. That was the one thing that made me not quite sure about my suggestion, but I figured it was maybe a time distortion type of deal.

Again, not proud. I actually only knew this one song was Led Zep when I asked somebody at a party the other week, after about the 9214th time they played it. Facepalm was involved.
