It's an awesome, open-ended game by Ambrosias. You fly around on a spaceship, make money, fight people, do missions, etc. Ambrosias is an awesome site for Mac games (though they work on Windows too).

Has anyone else played it before? I've been addicted to EV ever since the first game came out something like 10 years ago...

I... guess not?

Except this thread only has 11 views. Is the title that horrible? :(

I LOVE EV!!!!!!

Just thought I'd throw that out there. It's been a favorite of mine since 8th grade :)

ZOMG!!!

Are you honestly telling me that if I click that link I can play EV again? That game was the fucking bomb back in the day. I was too young to have hands big enough to use the whole keyboard at once so me and my sister used to split the controls between us and cover half of the board each.

Two weeks left till I finish my course? Exams starting in one? f*ck that shit homeboys, I have game to play! That stuff is fucking classic.

There's a 30 day free trial which will get you hooked and inspire you to shell out $30 to Ambrosia so you can enjoy this game for life.

And I swear it's worth it. I paid it in 8th grade and I've spent more hours on this game on and off through the years than I care to admit.

Is the old-skool version available out there? All I can find is this new fangled 'nova' stuff (don't get me wrong, the minute my willpower runs out I'm going to download it and play it till my eyes bleed).

Also, if magical (totally legal) space monkeys let me know of the existance of a full version of this software (or the old version), would you be interested in knowing about it?

Naturally, some of my best friends are space monkeys, and they have always given me very sound advice.

Well, I bought it myself, so I don't know of any free versions out there. What sucks about EV Nova is that you actually have to pay for it to play the entire thing...

BUT! If you pay for it, you can download ports here and here for the first two versions.

Buy Nova. Then download the plugins for the original and override. But you'd probably like Nova a lot, too, so give it a whirl as well.
