The politicians of America are destroying this great country. It is time we destroyed the politicians and took back our country. I quote the Declaration of Independence:
"But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."
In the past couple hundred years...we've managed to get ourselves into serious debt, and our language skills have been reduced to that of retards. Look how they used to write.

It's time to crack that arsenal out of your gun cabinet and start overtrhowing. Absolute despotism is a bitch, isn't it? Perhaps you could persuade your comrades in Burma to do the same.

Alas, they are bed-wetting lily-livered pacifist heathans. I for one, do not pity them, but rejoice that their pathetic genes are being removed from the pool by club-wielding fascisti.

Indeed. I think that I'd trust the majority of the people I talk with on these forums with the governing of our nation more readily than I would our current batch of fuckwits. I suppose that if our economy implodes it might motivate the American people to do something revolutionary, but right now most of us are only slightly below par. Anyways, here's a list of obvious things that need to be done to help the country.
1. Pay off our debts
Appalled doesn't quite capture my feelings on the current level of national debt. I am in awe that there is someone out there moronic enough to owe someone more than a trillion dollars with interest. The fact that this "someone" is our current governing body is depressing to say the least. Whether you're for "big" government or against it, you have to at least consider that our current economic crisis might have something to do with our ever-growing deficit. We need to cut spending in several areas if we want to have any hope of getting back in the green. I mean, come on, we pay our farmers to not grow food. What the f*ck?
2. Retract unnecessary military
Remind me again why we still have troops stationed in Japan? Are we worried that they're just waiting for us to leave so that they can get back to ravaging Hawaii? It's a waste of money, nothing more. Frankly, the need to keep Russia encircled disappeared in the early 90's. We need to keep up with the times, you know?
3. Ban lobbying
The theory behind lobbying is a nice one. It's a way for people to ensure that politicians keep at least vaguely in step with what the people desire. You say to them, "vote for this bill, here's a nice dinner". Capitalism at work. Unfortunately, at this point it's pretty much just the extremist retards that do any lobbying. The NRA has made us forget about all of the amendments we're losing for the sake of the big #2 (we loooove shootin' critters), the teacher's union has driven our national intelligence into the ground, and politicians might as well just sew fucking corporate logos into their suit coats, as it would at least be up front. Lobbying in fact only gives voice to the loons, as the majority of the country doesn't have just one thing that they care about. All lobbying does is allow extremists to play tug-of-war over national policy. Screw that.
4. Stop teaching kids how great America is
The reason things have gotten so bad in the first place is that we've replaced patriotism with retarded, blind loyalty. From day 1 we get stories of Christopher Columbus, Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and all the other big names beat into our heads, and with each one comes a story about how they helped make our country great. It's basically brainwashing. Let's just tell them the truth: "Our country has had a few high notes among our many low ones, and there's plenty of shit that needs fixing." Maybe then we'd love our country rather than love the people that rule it.
There's other stuff, but I'm done for now. It's not like saying this on the CC Forum is going to help anything.

for anyone interested, you should rent Idiocracy
it's a Mike Judge picture -- the guy who did Office Space. about what happens to the world after many many generations of idiots breeding.
it wasn't the best movie, but had enough jokes that made me laugh out loud to keep my interest. not nearly as good satire as Office Space, but funny.

You guys should vote Ron Paul...that's all you would have to do, but now you say you want to practice your duty to get rid of the government? I am with you if you are serious, but how to do it is another matter for strict debate, as I follow Ron Paul, so I believe in peaceful civil disobedience. We have enough violence in the world...

Ron Paul.

Very nice post Frigidus, a lot of points I agree with. With your second point, I believe its not so much the fear of anything immidiate happening, but the peace of mind that the US has bases around the world in case anything happens in that country or its neighbors (for instance, in the current political climate, a base in east Asia for the US is not a bad idea) whether that is reassuring for me or not I dont know.

Sadly, Jefferson was never posed this question. I guess we'll never know.

I love that movie. It's so true. The first 15 minutes of that movie is only surpassed by Super Troopers intro...
