It seems that Napoleon_1er, one of the board's most... well-known... posters, will be going to university sometime within the coming few years.

Now, I think that we can all admit he has some sort of brain, though perhaps an underdeveloped one.

He also at least fakes (and possibly actually espouses) an ideology that is pretty far outside of the university mainstream.

Will his professors, tutors/TAs, and classmates send him home crying every day? Will he convert them all to indisputable truth of white supremacy? Will he find love in the arms of strong, virile Nigerian with a gentle touch?

I think he'll play with his own.

1) What do you want to study in Uni?

2) Do you drink, smoke, or do drugs? If yes, what kind and to what extent?

from my experiences thus far in a few different institutions i'd say it was blindingly obvious that you don't actually need any real intellect to pull out a decent degree in pretty much whatever field you fancy. nappy will do fine but he might find his peers a little depressing. in turn i'm sure they'll find his intellect sadly misplaced and probably won't put out much. (sorry old spice)

I would venture that he will prosper academically but not socially, mind you much can happen in 3 years so he may well change a great deal.

What kind of weird colleges do you have over there? I imagine he'd do rather well at uni, and I have no doubt he'll make friends as some of my friends have some of the same beliefs. (Except that silly religion-shit, but then again we is all secular and shit over here.)

Everyone changes during their university years, almost without exception for the better. You meet new people, you experiment, you mature, and this process sometimes takes the shape of an African lover.

Nap may still come out of university a rightist (most likely not, but MAY), but he'll be DIFFERENT than when he went in.

I am hoping nobody deletes this. It's really irritating reading threads where you post but wicked deletes the posts.

I've attended both what's considered one of the most leftist schools in the US, and one that's more to the right than most, and really there's not A LOT of difference between the two. They've both been substantially left of US-aligned "center". I've never met anyone at a university who has openly professed opinions along the line Nap's apparent social stance. At the school where I got my MA, they have the "Ayn Rand School of Objectivism" (srsly), so I know quite a few of his economic ilk.

Well students obviously, but universities in europe are different from american ones. We don't live at university, it's a bit like school actually except you don't live with your parents. They're less of a community, though I'm not entirely certain about the UK.

One of my best friends at uni expresses some of his sentiments, so I'd imagine nappy when he's actually talking to real people and not on the internet where extreme positions are more easily taken would have virtually no problems.

At my school, which was in a fairly conservative area, it felt like there were far more students who were right than left. Admittedly most of them werent informed enough to hold some of the views that would make them noticeable right wing thinkers, but eventually a few of them picked up the notion that if you just say the opposite of what i say, your probably doing what your supposed to.

None of us lived on campus either, which i would assume affects how you transmit your views.

i think he'll do fine haha. I don't know how professors score their classes, but if its based on sincerity, enthusiasm, and effort I don't doubt that he'll be doing great.

I can't tell you how many people I've met in the biology program who are taking their senior seminar who do not espouse (believe, whaterver)/do not understand evolution. If I wasn't as impressed with our program as I am, I would say that they're failing their students. It just seems that this kind of thing resists education, a surprising amount. I'm voting the option that is closest to 50/50.

I think you missed my point,it will be at least another 3 years before he even gets to university.

I am shocked at how young he is. I am also shocked at the fact that so many people believe he will hold his own. If he spouts the crap that he posts in these forums to people in his halls, he will be very quickly universally despised. However, through sheer arrogance, he'll probably hold his own.
