Has anybody ever heard of that musical? Our school is performing it and I was picked to play the guitar part in the Pit Orchestra...and the music is 65 PAGES LONG. The problem is, neither me nor my teacher at school who appointed me the part knows the tempo of any of the music, so does anyone here happen to know?

thanks hecter...you not only gave me a very uncertain answer but one that didn't even answer my question. I asked TEMPO not TIME

Tempo, not time signature. Sorry to be a music theory geek.

And sorry to Paradice, I don't even know of the musical, let alone the music. Good luck with it anywho.

Based on Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew"

A rather famous movie musical for several reasons, one of the more humorous being the perceived ass-smacking the guy is giving the chick on the movie poster. Movie came out in the 50's and was considered a hard R for its day.

Much more on Wikipedia. You can get the soundtrack on Itunes, and more historical info on Wiki.

I have seen it many years ago, and I don't remember much guitar work. You are probably going to be very very bored for this musical.

try iTunes maybe?

See if you can find the soundtrack on iTunes or online elsewhere... you may only get to hear about 30 seconds of the song, but that should be enough to get an idea of the tempo
