I remember reading somewhere about some astonishing percent of people who are infected with HPV. The thing is most of the people don't even realize they have it because the side effects don't even show on around 90%? of people who are infected.

Yeah, I think in health class the statistic I learned was 80% of women has some form of HPV. For some reason they can't test it for men.

But that was any form of HPV. Apparently only like 4 of the quite a few strands are harmful, and are STDs.

I don't remember well though (I was mostly on CC on my laptop "taking notes"), so don't quote me on that.

So why is it that it is the girls who are dirty dirty sluts for picking up diseases? You do realise that they have to sleep with someone else who is also involved in the transmission of the disease (i.e men)

This whole culture of 'women being 'sluts' if they sleep around', yet a male in the same situation is a 'champ' or a legend, of some sort, is pretty backdated and has got to change.

But yes, clearly America's sex education policy is doing wonders

This double standard exists out of necessity. If everyone was a champ for sleeping around we would all still be living in caves and chasing our KFC (all between fantastically great cave orgies).

I laugh when people bring up the sex double standard. A classic case of short-sighted idealism.

i categorically disagree. Given the fact that roles of men and women are changing in other strata of behavior it seems rather incorrect to suggest there is still a necessity for a certain aspect, especially because this behavior is of specific import.

I cringe when people bring up the idea that there should be a double standard. A classic case of people being uncomfortable with the idea that people may like sex.

important edit caveat....while it may not disagree it is in part important given some of the cultural milleu we find ourselves in, i disagree that this importance makes it right or attaches permance to it....seemed worth mentioning.

Sffalse...what about women with enlarged clitoris's?

How embarrising is it that im not sure if thats right way to pluralize clitoris.

Well obviously if you tell a bunch of horny teenagers "NEVER HAVE SEX! CONDOMS ARE BAD!" they will ofcourse not have sex.
