Good times....

Yeah, so a while ago I had to write an essay for AP European History. This is how I began it (the subject was the black plague and little ice age):

"It was all about the Black Plague in the 15th century. The Black Plague was very bad and so was the Little Ice Age too. lulz jk."

Just thought I'd share this little bit of amusing intentional bad writing.

Let me guess, your teacher failed you on that paper.

Yes, I know what you are talking about, last year I took AP European History.

You mean plague that started in Europe in mid 14th century?

bad writing isn't funny, except to mock the writer.

just so you know, OP...

i'd recommend you reconsider your method of getting attention from the teacher. i suspect you'll have more success with the idea below:

mail her a box with a dead squirrel inside, and a note that reads, "unlike this squirrel, my love for you will never die."

she'll be so impressed, i'm sure she'll keep you after school for 'detention'.

Little ice age was a phenomena that started to occur in mid 16th century (around 1550 glacial surfaces around the world started to expand). -> that was in early modern period.

Black death
(Great plague) came to Europe (from Asia) in 14th century (around 1347). ->medieval period.

Conclusion: Writing about two different things in history (geographical/climate and medical/population), in two different periods of human history that are separated by more than two centuries (early modern and medieval).

And he starts with:
"It was all about the Black Plague in the 15th century. The Black Plague was very bad and so was the Little Ice Age too."

So it was all about 15th century...

Well, the 15th century is from 1400 to 1499 (or was it 1401 to 1500?). Anyway, it's really all about 15th century, +-50 years. And what's 50 years against a universe that's 14000000000 years old.

First of all, I went on to write a very good paper. I just decided to have a little fun before actually getting down to the knitty gritty. Second, while the Black Death started in the 14th century, there were still outbreaks in the 15th century and the effects were being felt well into the 16th.

So, no, I did not fail the class, and I would never write a full paper that badly. That's just an insult to my own intelligence.

I doubt it. And if there is, you'll have a horrible teacher. The essays should be done in class to replicate the time frame of the test.

It's not nearly as hard as they make it out to be. If you're good with history you'll do fine.

Hologram, just so you know, telling everyone that you wrote an insanely inaccurate and stupid sounding sentence is not the way to convince us you're funny. We see far to much earnest stupidity here in the forums to enjoy the fake kind.

Who gave you this assignment? Your teacher or did you pick a subject by yourself? Because it's like writing an article about Spanish flue (after WWI; medical problem, like plague) and global warming...

And they are just 60-70 years apart (not more than 200).
