my novel (in progress)

Postby Hitman079 on Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:28 am

please, read my novel! i need the money
this must be just about the 3rd time i've ever tried this. if you are interested, it's an action type of novel, sort of like harry potter without the spells, and more violence (but no gore or anything). characters have pretty interesting powers (sword enchanted with your soul, using others' energy to heal, etc.), and the backstory is almost plausible. you can submit a character if you want to be in it.
REEAD IT

the link is in my sig.
it's a novel-in-progress, by the way. it's in a very readable stage.

Well i will read it sometime....maybe......possibly.....never.

But just skimmed through it and doesn't a novel have to be like 70+ pages long. :?

Keep at it.

I have co-authored a novel and the best feeling in the world (apart from the obvious exceptions) is when you write the last words and know you have embarked on a long haul and seen it through to the end.

do it Hitman it's fun. ;) (Though it can be hard at some times. ;) Though when I wrote mine, I never really finished it, (I got 50,000 words, just left the story open to more parts.) I should work on some of my other stories. :P I have too many of them to work on.

Pretty sweet man. I'm an avid reader and I'm also an artist trying to get into a comic/graphic novel school. Creating my own graphic novel is my dream. I have ideas and some scribbled storyboards but nothing substantial yet. I always tip my hat to writers and traditional novelists because to me its much easier to just draw a scene than describe it meticulously with words, or if I tried to do that it would be a bland bunch of text filled with massive run-on sentences, much like this one. So kudos to you for having the ability to write well, keep at it, and best of luck!

yes, this novel would be better as a graphic novel, and in fact, i made it to compete with a comic my cousin was drawing with about the same theme. i'm a horrible drawer, so i just decided to write it up.

Oh I wasn't trying to say it'd be better as a graphic novel, I was just tipping my hat to you because for me it's so much harder to write a scene very well than to draw it. Always thought that took a lot of talent to be a writer.

i know, but i was just thinking out loud. the theme and flow of things in the novel would really make it a cool graphic novel.

That's part of the point. You just can't afford to have writer's blocks when you have a deadline. NaNo helps you get more productive. The writing may not necessarily be good, but that's why we have editing. :P

Last year was my third year. Ironically, I've been writing less and less each time. The first year was the only time I won.
