My first iPod was the original shuffle. However, my wife and I recently upgraded to matching new 4GB Nanos (3rd Generation) and are much more pleased with out music-listening experience. :)

The iPod is nothing but an overpriced mp3 player, the name is what costs you.

Wikipedia wrote:iPod can play MP3, AAC/M4A, Protected AAC, AIFF, WAV, Audible audiobook, and Apple Lossless audio file formats. The iPod photo introduced the ability to display JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, and PNG image file formats. Fifth and sixth generation iPod classics, as well as third generation iPod nanos, can additionally play MPEG-4 (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC)

Now who should I believe more?

Unless you connect it to a speaker system often, there's not much of a point in that... I mean whats the most you can do? Put the Pod in your backpack and hold the controller in your hand? You can't see the menu that way...

Well... the whole appeal is that it's simple. And it looks good.
(I have a 80gb Ipod Video for €250, I don't think that's really that overpriced.)

Yeah it does!

The apple format is better though, as far as sound quality and taking up hard drive space....

I'd rather own a Creative, or Cowon portable media player. I do not like Apple iPods.

All right, all right, convincing argument--BUT! I think that they didn't used to. Back in MY DAY.

EDIT: Ehh, maybe not.

Ipod touch is the only good iPod. That is why i didn't buy one until that came out. Even still it's over priced and lacks a lot of memory but i didn't pay for it so i love it

I've had the old 2-gig nano for two years now. Haven't been anywhere without it since ;)
