Radical Feminists

Postby brooksieb on Fri Jan 04, 2008 1:02 pm

I'm talking about radical feminists do you like 'em or hate 'em and i'm not talking about the feminists who want equal rights for women (they're okay) i'm talking about the radical ones, the ones who want men's numbers reduced dramatically and don't wear bras or don't shave their armpits and want men to be treated like dirt for women.

the question, like 'em or hate 'em.

by the way some people have put comments that might seem a little out of place so don't tell em they're dum or anything i've just edited my post a bit

Depends on how far you define Radical Feminists towards being feminazis.

Females rule! 8) *takes off my bra*

lol no I'm all for equal rights and all that, but no. That's just - no. I think most women today are pretty much equally treated and has the same rights as men, I don't see the point in complaining.

I think you're describing the old East German/Cold War women's weightlifting team...although I never thought they wanted to make men their slaves.

It's just reverse discrimination. Like Affirmative Action is reverse racism.

Edit: "reverse discrimination" is the same as Discrimination, or in this case sexism...just like "Reverse Racism" is actually just Racism.

I had a friend who doodled some stick figures sword fighting on the borders of his notes and he didn't bother erasing them before he handed it in. He got an 'F' on the assignment, not because he'd been doodling, but because "girls can sword fight too". What was he supposed to do, draw some hair on them to make sure he wasn't offending anyone? Most female English teachers are feminazis.

Your definition here, and above, is much much more talking about the stereotype of feminists--the stereotype that scares the status quo--than about what a feminist really, truly, is.

Being afraid of/judging women because they don't wear bras or because they have hairy armpits is silly, in my book.

By the way, bra burning is actually a highly publicized myth.

In conclusion, rock on btown. I think you're on to something.

I hate that line...it wouldn't be nearly as bad if it weren't for the fact that it's the really stupid girls that use it. It's like they're trying to somehow be smarter just by saying the average IQ points of men and women is different by a barely statistically significant margin.

Am I the only one that's turned on by the thought of being a slave to a woman with hairy armpits and no bra? :?

Radical feminism is something very specific. It's a philosophical position that maintains that the root of all inequalities, economic, racial, social, is the system of gender inequality that dominates nearly all human societies.

This theory was first formulated, to my understanding, by both postmodern and neo-Marxian scholars (sociologists, anthropologists, philosophers, political theorists, and literary critics mostly) in the 1970s and gained momentum (among a certain sect of theorists) until the 1990s when "world systems" theories garnered much greater currency and, I would say, continue to dominate the academy today.
