Wait. Do you have to write your thing in trombone or a c instrument?

EDIT: oh and I suggest download the demo of Sibelius. You can create music and then print it

Maybe this chart will help.

Also, the C note (for example) is two places lower on the Bass Clef then on the Treble. The same goes for all of the other notes as well.

An easy way to transpose is to look at the treble clef and between the two dots is the f.

And for the treble clef the middle line is a b

Preferably from trombone to that certain instrument. and i am using solero. I don't know how to exactly transpose the key. say i am using trombone for some odd reason.... and i want to go to alto sax. the alto sax is in another key that would change the key signature from maybe e flat to something else.

Muy thai thanks for the pic

Alto sax is in Eb

If you are transposing from a C instrument you have to move it up all by three semi-tones

just an example, if you were playing these notes on the trombone

C E G A

the alto would play -

Eb G Bb C

Remember that alto uses treble clef, which i'm sure you know, and muy_thaiguys nice little picture there should help you with that

EDIT: Also, If you're transposing this for your own purpose, this wouldn't matter so much. But if it's for school and you have a music teacher grading or something, remember to take into account of the new signature. I.e

If the first key was C, the new one Eb - Remember that Eb key signature has 3 flat notes, Eb Bb Ab.

remember to call it Ab, and not G# - same note, obviously, but if you have an anal music teacher (like i did) s/he'll take marks off if you don't use the note in the key signature
