Think about this.

Life is like a spiral staircase heading up to an ultimate destination. The steps, (like the trials of life), on the way don't seem to be important, but if you ignore them, you will fall and won't get to where you desire.

not a bad way of looking at it, but you're not always going to end up where you want to be

If you keep ignoring the steps, you will keep falling.

You can't argue that now, can you?

Dude, how does one IGNORE the steps... If you did, you'ld not lift your foot high enough to put it on the next step... You wouldn't fall, you just wouldn't move forward...

This makes absolutely no sense.

And learn what pseudo means.

Your taking it way too literal. Your missing the point completely.

How else can I put this?

Oh, I get it. Your giving me a hard time. Very funny.

yes you can: this makes negative sense. think of something that makes sense, and this is the opposite of it.
I'm sure out there we have a plethra of budding philosphists that will make us scratch our heads, but, no offense here mate, your not one of them.

Ok, you can take a little offense i suppose.

Thank you. Finally, someone who knows what I'm getting at. By the way, your absolutely right. The destination's success depends on how you walk the steps.

yes i can, by saying youre fucking retarded.

a staircase doesnt just keep going it ends. so eventually youd hit the bottom, which is where you were going. end of story.

edit: to add on about staircases ending, something would have to be holding it up to be there in the first place proving theres an end to it.

I like to think someones life is more like a snowflake.

Everybody is unique and complex, but there are so many snowflakes that no one cares. Everyone falls down, and millions of snowflakes go unnoticed. However, if many snowflakes get together, they can create something really cool(snowball fights!)

much better than a silly staircase, with arbritary missing steps, anyways.

Thanks for responding, mate. I assume the response is for me.

If that's the case, then, I don't care if you think it makes sense or not.

Just because you say something, doesn't make it fact or right in any way.

It's a classic clash of opinions. Isn't it?

The way I look at it is you either choose to not understand it or you simply don't understand it.

Your missing the point completely. Soomething tells me, you don't want to understand because it just don't work for you.

Gregrios your trying the classic argument of "oh man, your just not TRYING to understand, your just not LISTENING."
well who the hell are you? What credentials do you have to say 'oh man guys, heh, listen to this: life is stairs!' why can't life be, say, an apple, or (as i previously stated) a snowflake?

You arbitrarily picked an object and only used the aspects of life that work with this arbitrary metaphor to make your philosophical statement. THis is stupid, and not true, and you trying to force it down peoples mouths doesn't make it any more true. To prove this statement:
give me any object(not a specific person, of course) and I can somehow make it related to life in the same way that you made staircases related to life. You didn't have some all-knowing epiphany, you just made a simple metaphor. And when several people tell you its a dumb metaphor, you don't listen.

Now I know, you don't get it. Your snowflake and my staircase theory's are talking about 2 different things. I understand yours because you told us what it meant.

I simply wanted people to figure out mine by thinking about it.

Since that was a mostly failed attempt, I'll tell you.

It refers to the tests of life that each and everyone of us endures. The steps being the tests of life. The destination being the heaven or hell.

You could have just asked me what it meant in the first place.
