No I am not. I don't beleive in ghosts. Neither do I beleive in heaven, hell, or wherever the non-body part of us would go.

I beleive we have a body, and that's it.

That should tell you everything

I am myself a ghost, but I can't decide whether I exist or not.

When I first moved into our house, we would hear scratching kind of noises. I thought it was mice, but the more I listened to the noise, it didn't exactly sound like scratching. More like energy crackling, but scratching is the closest noise I could akin it to. Also, by the recliner, it would sound like somebody taking their finger and sliding down the wall boards...thumpity, thumpity, thumpity, thump! But nothing was their.

One night, I was woken up by the scratching. It was coming from a corner in my bedroom. I stayed awake and just laid there listening to it, and trying to decipher what the sound could be. Was it an animal? Well, it didn't sound like actual scratching that you would expect from mice, but it sounded similiar (I have heard mice scratches before, and this didn't sound the same). The noise sounded more like crackling energy...this went on for about ten minutes, and then it stopped, then it sounded like someone ran across my bedroom and picked up a table full of dishes and stuff! A loud crashing noise that scared the crap out of me! It was the first time I ever stood up in bed! I stood straight up on my bed a screamed, "HEY!!!!!" at the top of my lungs trying to scare away whatever it was. I turned on the light expecting to see something tipped over or broke, but I had nothing in my room to account for that type of crashing noise...nothing in my room at all, I had just moved in!

Then a curious phenomena started to happen. Almost everyday for about a month, I would get up in the morning, and win I would come up stairs...the gas stove top would be on. I thought it was my sister forgetting to turn the stove off before she left for work. I questioned her about it, and told her to make sure the stove was off before she left. She told me that she never ever touched the stove.

Then one day, i was on the computer in the basement, and my sister was getting ready to go see some freinds. I heard a sharp snapping noise...snap, snap, snap. I ran up stairs and the oven was crancked all the way up! My sister came in the kitchen, she heard the snapping too, and she said,"It wasn't me!"

This whole stove turning on by itself was really starting to worry me, and I was kind of mad that if it was a ghost, that the ghost wasn't to concerned about our safety. So, one evening when I was all alone, I decided to speak to it.

I treated it like it was an actual human being. I scolded it and asked it not to do it anymore. I said I was happy that she was there, but if she wanted to get our attention, she could open a cupboard or a window or something, but the gas stove was too dangerous.

Well, since my discussion with the ghost...the stove has never come back on by itself again. But, yes...a cupboard door will open on its own, and I will laugh. We also have a window in the garage that opens all by itself now. So I do not have a problem with that type of phenomena, but the whole stove thing was a little too much.

The last experience I had was in the basement. I was on the computer, and then I heard a young women's laughter right by my ear...very audible. But that was it. I haven't seen anything.

But my aunt's house is haunted by my Uncle Glenny and my Uncle Ray...both of whom died in that house. We think Glenny is in the basement, and sometimes he throw food off the pantry shelf...that is scary but funny at the same time!

My Uncle Ray likes to fool around with electronics...Tv's, Radios, Smokedetectors...we think my Uncle Ray follows my cousin David (who is Ray's son) to work sometimes at the Indian Casino. My cousin has Security Guards as witnesses to something that calls out his name...but no one is around...the Securtiy Guards heard someone call out David's name, and they immediately went to find out who it was...they didn't find anybody. And it is a closed off part of the Casino...my cousin works in the bar. No place for anyone to sneak off to. The Security Guards could not figure it out. We figure it is my Uncle Ray bugging David. He even pulls David's shirt tails at home.

David says that he sees shadows that walk up the steps, I haven't seen those in that house, but I did see a shadow in my room and then it wooshed away straight through the closed bedroom door! That was weird.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my ghost stories...I still got a few more, but I should let someone esle continue now.

The title of this thread made me think it was going to be an exchange of ghost stories.
There are many ghosts along the Bayou.
