Same situation 40 km south from you simonov (where I am). I even took some pictures also, but only thing you see is ugly neighbor's house with snow all around...

Once, I was shoveling snow outside my house. I went in and out of house (to get some heat to my frosty fingers) and I drank a liter of boiled vine. After I finished I was felling a bit drunk so I went for a nap in 4 PM hours and I woke the next morning around 6 AM.

Now I'm pretty careful when it comes to boiled vine. :-^

yes i know - it hits like a mac truck... very drinkable so it can deceive you.
we usually drink it in winter times - we get to my friend's weekend cottage and get pissed with this wine then go out and fool around in the snow...

The weather here is ever so lovely. In the 80s (low 30s?).

My family's planning on having Thanksgiving dinner outside in the garden.

I love it.

how do you make boiled wine?

is it deceptively obvious, with the instructions in the title, or is there more to it?

does it matter what type of wine?

yes, a little more to it but not too much.

well you get wine (1 liter) and heat it - add cloves (8 pieces) and cinnamon (1 stick) for better aroma.
when wine starts boiling add sugar (150 g , preferably brown sugar) and boil for another 2-3 mins

both white and black wine can be used. we use white more commonly here. you can vary in ingredients to find what suits you the most (especially in sugar cause amount needed depends on the quality of wine).
