I like it black and white and vertical, the way you got it...that looks cool to me.

It's my middle name, it's for a school project (My teacher thinks we're in 2nd grade for some reason  ) we've got to write our name with some sort of symetry. this can be rotated 180 degrees and it still looks the same.

It's gotta be horizontal for it to work out right.

And Thanks for putting in your opinion :D

It works out much better aesthetically and Gestaltly speaking if you left it vertical. That is just from my Graphic Design point of view. As an art piece, I would like it Vertical on a big canvas.

Actually I initially did it in powerpoint. I made the word "WIDOW" and then copied it and rotated it. The I added little shapes to the upside down "WIDOW" to make it look like "MAKERS"

After several flip flops, I took a screen shot of my page and edited it in photoshop. The used the cleaned up version in illustrator to make a final crisp image.

But with the shape tools in powerpoint, you could get a pretty good looking image.

Everybody knows that vertical art is much better than horizontal

Now, from my Graphic Design point of view...your use of vertical read type is very bad indeed. Now McGee actually looked better vertical as an overall art piece, as I do not see it as particularly something to read. It is very nice to look at if it was black and white and vertical...kind of like Japanese writing but with a hint of some kind of archaic long forgotten alphabet, that now is only used in dark inner sanctum's by candle light, while pentagrams line the floor...something like that anyway. It just has that mysterious feel to it.

But really, Vertical and Black and White works very well.
