anyway, here's what real on 9-11...
http://www.911-truth.org
just kidding. let's all remember and commemorate all those brave soldiers who have died for our country and who still are fighting overseas. not just in america but everywhere. we may not agree with what the soldiers are fighting for or why, but it was not their decision; they are the ones who must fight and die.

I hate to break it to you but all you have to do is look around you.
there are no flags except at the ford dealership and post office.
most people with a working brain know that this country is doing is evil, not Freedom fighting.

Err... I'm fairly sure your Veterans Day (if its anything like Remembrance Sunday over here) shouldn't be happy...
Unless its somekind of hallmark greetings-card fancy-dress effort over the pond...

In my town there are flags flying everywhere, man.
Although I blame that on being in the Bible Belt with the Bush supporters.

no, but we americans slap "happy" on the front of every holiday, except christmas because it calls for EXTRA happiness. i'd say "happy" isn't meant literally but its connotation is meant to fit with the holiday itself. i guess in this case, happy would mean remember the veterans..or something along those lines. not HAPPY CELEBRATION VETERANS DAY.

I admit that I see way more Confederate flags than US flags, but from about November to February, there are hundreds of flags all over my community. Wal-Mart even flies the fuckers.

as in they can't choose whether or not the cause they fight for if they agree or not, not about joining the military. you join the military, you follow orders. it's called...a job.

Ignoring xtra's comments, this day is indeed more of a solem one. Where we salute our troops for fighting, dying, and struggling in battle after battle. From the Revolutionary War, to toppling Saddam Hussien in Iraq. These men and women have done so much for this country, that we like to honor and thank them for doing their duty.
So xtra, for one single day, shut your trap about how everything is a supposed conspiracy.

cant say i ever really feel empathy or sympathy for troops who die in war. It's what happens when you join the army. If they're too stupid to realise they are merely pawns then well thats there problem, don't see why we should have to have a minute silence -
Remember - its ok to kill if your government tells you too... apparently

I can truly say that I
do feel empathy and sympathy for troops who die and their families and friends. Yes, they decided to join the military, but yet it is still a human life. What is so hard about a little compassion. All the Vets I know have a hard time after war. A lot are homeless because they just can't cope with the system. So, yes, I do feel sympathy and empathy towards them. I am sorry that you do not, but that is how you feel.
Its okay to kill if it is in defense of you home, family, and country!
Much Peace and God Bless!
Thanks To All the Vets!

As DaGip said, falling in defense of your country (or defending other countries) is admirable. The people who died in Iraq (for the most part) didn't sign up to kill a bunch of people in a senseless war, but to defend their country and do what's right.
