I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!!!!

Somebody e-mailed me this:

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe . I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I was asked to send this on if I agree or delete if I don't. It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having "In God We Trust" on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Shut Up and BE QUIET!!!

Andy Rooney said few, if any, of these things...

I watch 60 Minutes every Sunday, and I never hear this drivel...

Before you pass on your chain-letter, conservative, bible-thumping shit, make sure the facts are straight.

I am a journalist, firstly... Second, it is only on once a week, dipshit.

Third, it IS important that you are citing a source that is incorrect. Not only does it make YOU look stupid, it reduces the efficiency of any points you attempt to make.

Fourth, most of those things above- aside from one or two- are completely swayed to the bible-thumping conservatives... i.e., you

Get your facts straight before you post...

Don't be a jackass even more than your religion makes you.

Rooney has been rumored to be an atheist for many years. Over the years many of his editorials have mildly lampooned the concept of God and organized religion. Increased speculation on this was brought to a head by a series of comments he made regarding Mel Gibson's film The Passion of the Christ (2004). In public comments he has described himself as, at different times, an agnostic and as an atheist.

Have fun with that guy you have SO MUCH IN COMMON WITH, Jay...

Andy Rooney is one of the greats in Broadcast Journalism... He started as an Army Journalist- something they don't have anymore. He was in WWII and was in a plane when it bombed Germany.

He's a great guy and a STARCH left-wing advocate...

That is why Jays post was complete bollocks!

Que?

What would snopes have to talk about with this? Whether or not Andy Rooney said these things?

Here are some actual quotes from Andy Rooney... It is things like this that cause retarded chain letters to come into being...

Rooney has been criticized by some for comments that may be considered racist or bigoted. On the Don Imus show which is simulcast on MSNBC, Rooney commented that he "hated" the term "African-American" saying "The word Negro, perfectly good word. It's a strong word and a good word. I don't see anything wrong with that."

In a 2002 commentary, Rooney addressed the use of the term "Negro" this way:

"Our thoughts about words change over the years. In 1968, I wrote a television show called "Black History, Lost, Stolen or Strayed" for Bill Cosby. I remember being uneasy with the word "black" because the acceptable word back then was "Negro." Today, I wouldn't use "Negro." It's a good, strong word, but now it sounds wrong to me.

Different ethnic groups of Americans have always had terrible nicknames for each other. I remember hearing them as a kid. You don't hear them much anymore because they always make the person using them sound like such ignorant jerk.

Italians were wops. Germans were krauts. Kikes ... Spics. Irish Catholics were "harps" or "micks." Wetbacks. Koreans or Vietnamese were "gooks." Chinks ... Slant eyes. ... Towel-heads."

He also wrote a column in 1992 that it was "silly" for Native-Americans to complain about team names like the Redskins saying, "The real problem is, we took the country away from the Indians, they want it back and we're not going to give it to them. We feel guilty and we'll do what we can for them within reason, but they can't have their country back. Next question."

In a recent column for Tribune media services, he wrote, "I know all about Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, but today's baseball stars are all guys named Rodriguez to me." Rooney later commented, "Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said it, [but] it's a name that seems common in baseball now. I certainly didn't think of it in any derogatory sense."

And here is the list of all things Andy Rooney mentioned on Snopes, Kyle...

First of, I would like to say that I agree with a big of what Jay wrote (even though his insecurity necessitated that he invents an authority to hide behind  ). As for the rest:
jay_a2j wrote:I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

And they have a right not to tolerate you. And every person has the right to express their lack of tolerance in their own way (otherwise, they would have to tolerate people who want protection from the certain forms of intolerance).
For example, you can express your lack of tolerance for the black waiter by calling him "Nigger" or a "Chimp", but he also has the right to express his intolerance toward biggots by peeing in your coffy or knocking your lights out.
I agree that forcing tolerance is stupid. However, so is being intolerant, because it puts you in conflict situations for no gain. But, if you think that you're geting your polutted coffey's worth, go for it.
jay_a2j wrote:My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

That must have been an interesting way to die. Were they trying to stop immigration ships from entering the New York harbor by swiming in their way?

Furthermore, your grandparents weren't the Founding Fathers of USA (at least your granny certainly wasn't). Thus, when they were born into USA, they had to accept certain traditions that were already ther (or they could turn and go back where they came from (which probably would have been painfull to your grand-grand mothers (who were giving them birth at the time). Earliest of those traditions consist on coming to America uninvited, killing the people who live there at the moment, stealing their land, raping their women and spreading diseases (I bet you have a new, patriotic outlook on anthrax now. It's a tradition! :D )
jay_a2j wrote:I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

Why? Because the way they dress? If I start dressing in a uniform, do I get to start telling people to stop and shooting those who keep walking?
jay_a2j wrote:We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

Correct. "You did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk your lives to defend their freedom." Period. You have either went there to get paid. Or you were to much of a coward to refuse to go there. Or you sent there people from the first two groups to further your political and economical intersts.
jay_a2j wrote:I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

I hope that you're using IE6 and your hard is filled with spyware. :P
jay_a2j wrote:It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

True.
Also, it takes evolution to be able to relate your thoughts and feelings to your child through series of sounds and symbols, rather then brute force.
jay_a2j wrote:I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

Wouldn't it be easier and more effective for you to gauge out your eyes if you never want to see things like that again?
jay_a2j wrote:And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

And people say that conservative Americans are to stupid to argue with! Go Jay! =D>

It's a common knowledge that 86% of Americans are really, REALLY smart. I would have more to say about that, but Oprah is doing an interview with a women who droped her child through the window and is now planing to sue the company that made the window.

Awww hell, we might as well get rid of the POLICE cause crime "isn't going anywhere". Homosexuality being wrong is an opinion. And like the post said...it does not mean those who hold that opinion are "phobics".

Other things to accept because they "aren't going anywhere":

Pedophilia

Bestiality

Racism

Wal-Mart

I know. Those are all genetic. I don't see why bestiality is a problem if the guy owns the animal, pedophilia is obviously wrong since its a one-way thing, racism is something that is learned in early childhood (exposure). Wal-mart problem HERE.
