Music Diversity?

Postby kwanton on Thu Nov 01, 2007 9:39 pm

Just wanting to get a feel for how diverse you CCers are in terms of muzak.

I have a 'lil of everything in my playlist.

Louis Logic, Canibus, Jay-Z, RAMMSTEIN!, Dave Matthews Band, a bunch of MArio jazz songs, Nas, Dr. Octagon, System of a Down, ENYA!!!!!, Ice Cube, and the whole Chrono Trigger soundtrack :D

I have a bunch of others but you can get a feel of my music taste from there.

The onl thing I don't have is pop/rock pretty much.

How's everyone else's playlists like?

A music that is a combo of both pop and rock? Or you don't have Pop and you don't have rock?

sadly it's skewed because for a while I only had certain songs and albums on it. (And still don't have everything.) But a lot of the main bands are there, I'll upload all my songs onto my computer sometime.

Basically, 80s metal and Classic Rock, Country (depends on song really), classical, Celtic, Spiritual, Jazz, 50s Rock, and some 60s/70s, very little soft or punk rock, oh, and NO rap.

This saddens me considering a good portion of my playlist can be considered rap/hip hop.

Yeah, i stick mainly to the rap section, but rock like Rage Against The Machine, SOAD, some of the earlier 80's-90's Metal is what i stick to. I used to be into the Sublime type music when I was younger, but have kinda grew away from it.

I go from Eminem and Jethro tull to led zeppilen and onto the celtic dance music, i got some Bach remixes going on, and all the way to up to Banana Yellow represented in my mp3 player. My music is as diverse as a gay pride parade in southern california.

Lotta hip hop/rap, say whatcha like but I just find it more interesting. I know lots of people who don't like to admit they listen to rap because of ridiculous stereotypes likes "wiggers" and "posers." People who only like "party like a rockstar" and stupid songs like that are annoying, I like nas, lil wayne, some of the game's stuff, kanye, t.i. ...

Pretty much everything but screamo, emo, and rap.

I'm big into classic rock, metal, and alternative. I listen to quite a few bands, but most notably:

1) U2
2) Led Zeppelin
3) AC/DC
4) The Killers
5) Van Halen
6) Metallica
7) Queen
8) Paul Simon / Simon & Garfunkel

AVA has a few songs I like but they're just too emo for the most part.... that goes for Box Car Racer and Blink-182 as well.

Muse is great, but until I get more money the only two songs of theirs I have is Butterflies & Hurricanes and Time is Running Out. Both are fantastic songs.

I like a assortment of music. I prefer the 80's rock, and country music.
AC/DC, Journey, Black Crows, Aero Smith, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Josh Turner, George Jones, Martina McBride. Plus so many more, to many to list.
I will listen to almost anything once to see if I like it. :P

I gotta fairly big hardcore/punk and the like CD collection, though lately i've been getting into folk-punk kinda stuff

I could be here forever listing them all, but the lastest band i've gotten into is one called Mischief Brew. Acoustic guitar/mandolin driven kinda stuff. Really cool. Kinda like old Against Me! (if anyone was into them before Tom Gabel decided to become a rockstar.. oh, the irony there)

Also F1fth, that folk/metal band you mentioned sounds interesting.

Man, you basically said all the bands I listen to. Though I prefer Poison over Paul Simon/Simon & Garfunkel though. :)
