I know he is.......... the use of my grammar implied he isnt a good prime minster rather than isnt a prime minister...............

and i dont like the way the scots get to have a say in the english parliment but it dosent work the other way round, or so i believe to an extent that occurs..........

Thats the nature of devolution, I'm afraid. And there isn't an English parliament. There's a British one... and then separate devolved assemblies as well. Its just one of those things which can never be solved without sacrificing either the Union or devolution, both of which are necessary. Its a relatively small price. Your life would be much worse off were we not to have the Scots at all.

Gordon Brown is a clown

>He knows he will lose come the next GE, he's just making the most of time in power to complete the ignominious work of New Labour under Blair

Cameron for Supreme Overlord!!

He knows he'll lose? Mate, I severely doubt it. It was fairly obvious, and the polls and reports have reflected it now, that he would have won a snap election. He didn't go for it for several reasons, tthe obvious one being that he thought it would bring him a smaller majority. He must be confident about a later election or else why not call a snap when he had such a good chance of winning?

Well polls were close enough that I reckon he knew a bit of conservative campaigning would see them top him, they could have closed the gap rapidly,. his performance not exactly having been stellar so far, it just takes a little to get the Great British electorate going.

Besides, people have just had enough of Labour. He is going down...

Yeh thats a fair answer. It wasn't an insulting question. I was just under the impression that you'd been here for a couple of years studying. Makes it more interesting that you're so pro-Cameron really. Are you not expecting them to implode again before the next election? Two years is a long time. A long time for a lot of Tories to start backstabbing properly. If people think the grammar-schools thing was potential party-splitting they haven't seen anything yet.

And as a second question, what do you think of Cameron as blair-lite? Surely you can see that his whole political career at the moment is based on the rise of Blair? For me, thats not a bad thing. He'll fail because of it. But surely you can't think its an admirable trait?

ok sorry about that. I thought you were asking with dripping cynical sarcasm how long id been here.

Cameron I think is an intelligent conservative who has gone a long way rebranding them and giving them a leader with charisma. Certainly he dwarfs Ian Duncan Smith and Howard in that aspect, and he has enough good sense and clever policy to be considered a good candidate in his own right not just a "you may as well vote for me because look at the incumbent option thats been there for god knows how long"

But what about Blair-lite? Norse's 'Changes' video was recently a good example of that. I'm not doubting he's by far the strongest leader in a decade (although Hague would have been better now if he hadn't missed the boat, in my opinion). I just think people can't fail to notice he is essentially the same political personality as Blair, which is going to be a major sticking point.
