as if Hypnotize and Mesmerize weren't bad enough with the guitarist getting an ego and hogging more of the vocals, now the lead singer goes out on his own, by his own rules, to "prove himself" and he doesn't even know how to use his amazing voice...

This was proved back in 1965. He was one of the greatest vocalists ever but i don't think you could argue he was a great singer...
