Interest in a real-time version

If a free real-time version of this game were available, would you play?

A real-time game would still involve players taking turns, but there would be something like a 1 minute time limit, and all players would be logged in at the same time. No page refreshes.

comments?

Not sure what you mean? Free members can play realtime games here.

aah ok, your edit helps a bit. Basically that's a speed game, which is already available here.

p.s... since you seem to be fielding ideas to do your own thing, I've moved this thread to the clubhouse. If I misunderstood, let me know.

Yes, similiar to a speed game, but involving shorter time limits, more players, no page refreshes, and no membership fee.

I can tell you now people here think 5 minute turns are too short. I doubt a 1 minute turn would go over that well.

i think there are real time risks out there.

I remember when i first joined, there was this guy who was telling everyone how great this other risk site was and how conquer club sucked.

I do believe he was gang-raped by the entire forum.

nah, it says "no membership fee" not "they pay you to do it"

A: NO, it's called Risk and is a TURN based board game, where player has time to make his move.

Just because this is based on Risk does not mean we cannot deviate from the rules.

I think a real-time game would actually be really good. As soon as you finish one go you can start your next go, which is more RL then anything we have so far. It will mean that you have to think quicker, but I can already think of 2 ways that that system could be overly abused.

Doesn't Risk II have a RT mode?

One would be to just take 50 turns in a row quickly without moving anything just to get the reinforcements :)

Yer, that was one of my ideas. The other one, quickly take an area which gets you a fairly decent bonus, and then fortify at quick speed, but taking 1 place each turn to get a card, and just overpower everyone else.

I hate to be 'that guy' but would you like a special satellite that can scratch your ass from outer space while you're requesting this change?

Yes, and I don't like it. Its pretty stupid when you attack greenland with 25 men on it with iceland with 40 men on it, only to kill one guy because greenland has attacked iceland at the VERY SAME moment! Now your 39 men move to greenland but iceland has been taken over by the guys YOU were attacking.

True.

Free members: go to Callout forum or Live chat to find an rt. I've found many before speed games came out and all worked very well.
