Whenever i watch NFL or australian rugby league i find the lack of chants from the crowd odd. it is common in england to sing songs about your team, certain player or the opposite team. usually to spur your team on or demoralize the opposition or just to piss off other fans. is it me or do you not chant at all ?

in all american sports there are no chants or songs or anything other than:

"let's go ____"
"de-fense (clap clap clap)"

only the Jets... J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS!

But that is probably because they don't separate the fans like at futbol (for the sake of americans) games.

Standing and singing team's songs during the whole game is mandatory.
In Croatia almost common thing is to curse opposite team's players, fans, coach, police and, if the team plays bad, own club's management.
Racial and personal remarks are too bad to be translated.

Baseball has a lot of cheering and songs. One for example is the Jose thing from the Mets.

In the US there is plenty of chanting, yelling, taunting, etc at sporting events...but very little, if any singing.

Not sure why....cultural thing I guess. We also don't sing in pubs...unless you count Karaoke.

Too lazy, so we just play that Queen song over the public address sound system.
