The thread for conceptual theory of why you matter or don't.

Yes? No? Discuss, your job here is to define the conceptions of why you think you possible matter? Or if we divulge off topic like always, discuss the content of Society implications for why we would even need to prove that we matter, why it matters that we matter. If its worth it to matter and why anyone would care.

I won't participate, I honestly want to see what you have to say.

This is also not a thread for you to cry about why you don't matter and bitch about your troubles. Present your statement and leave it at that.

Also I would really appreciate each and every honest reply. Its to say, a form of research.

Please do not post jokes about matter(Pun Jokes) or you matter because you reproduce, quotes of the like are fine but use them with a description of why you choose that. Not just some quote all on its own, that says nothing of you.

And one final note, after I feel this thread has come to the end of its train rides, I will ask for a lock and post some what of the thesis of my "research" as you will see.

I believe we matter because we all have our parts to play in this world.

Not really, a lot of people sit at home not doing anything, they don't matter. There's a thing on theonion.com about TIME's 299 million least influential people.

see but those are the ones that give people power and influence.

They are the ones that buy computers from billy gates which gave him power which makes him influencial.

same with oprah winfrey. If people didnt sit at home and watch her on tv then chances are she wouldnt be rich.

those people have power to make people have money, power, and/or influence.

does that make sense?

Whether you matter or not depends upon what you define as important (if anything), which is itself subjective.

You guys seem to be arguing that what's important is greater humanity, but what renders that important? If humanity is important then surely individual humans are important, and so everybody "matters" in and of themselves.

The question is too hypothetical, you need to define terms.

Wow, this sounds like the book i had to read over the summer: The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Shity book.....

Basically after this guy dies, he goes to heaven and meets five people who's lives he has changed without even knowing. Then he realizes that his life was important after all.

dont read it.

Unless you're gonna die and you think your life sucks.

actually, still dont read it.

I think this whole "body" thing is helping us educate and that when we procreate we are just bringing more souls on earth to educate.. As souls stop wanting to educate we will have more people not be able to have kids.. Makes any sence? lol

By whichever route you all finally decide that we all do matter, please ensure that the population of Wyoming is not included, as I have it on good authority that they do not matter.

I personally dont believe that any of us matter. In the real grand scheme of things It doesnt matter what happens to us. We are merely 1 small planet in a universe of trillions and trillions and trillions. all of us together only make up about .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the universe so what diffence do we really make.

I matter..... Actually it all depends on the perspective, all of us matter on scale of our planet (all except people with IQ below 100), but on the scale of the universe, we're utterly insignificant.

I was raised wiccan. my mom teaches me different things about wicca my dad says "your not a witch" to me all the time and I tell him hes not a baptist because he doesn't attend church... Its a cycle. In all reality I'm not fully sure what I am I just know I'm not Christian.

Everyone can be a player in the great game of life.

"All the players are coming together it seems"

You just need to know where the dice are.
