there not bad, some very good tunes. my mate in work has like 6 of their albums. some of them before they were even heard of over here.

i'd have to say they are one of my favorite bands still making music. The new album is pretty good, a rich variety of songs. I also dug the Racontuers side project Jack did a while back

i loved the immortal robert pollard's nickname for them, "the brown stripes." they're a fucking gay gimmick band, no bass player, no real rhythm guitar except on overdubbed production bullshit. they're made for the post-MTV generation to lap up like dogs. they're the rock and roll equivalent of n'sync or the backstreet boys, a thrown together pop bullshit group designed to sell pop bullshit records and fool all your ignorant asses. they're all hype and hollywood, no real talent or art involved......sorry to bust your bubble :evil:

I love 'em. I've got mixed feelings about the new stuff though... I think they were at their peak starting with De Stijl and culminating with Elephant.
