Is anyone out there interested in joining a team to develop a game concept into reality.

* Nothing like or in competition with Conquer Club concept - I have no interest in getting involved in a new and improved CC.

* Open source

* .NET

PM me if you are interested and let me know what technical skills you can bring to the table. If there's enough interest we can carry on with more particulars in another location.

{edit} or just go straight to the project site

I am writing something here because I feel sorry that nobody has responded openly to this thread.

I have no skills whatsoever apart from being able to write reams of junk for your project whenever you require it. I may also be able to contribute written accounts of various lurid daydreams I occasionally indulge in, in which I have telekinetic powers and a two-foot long member. These may however be of limited use to you, although rest assured that I am willing to supply them should you consider them of any help to your project.

Sincerely,
DM

I have the imagination of 15 ten-year old children. If said game is set well beyond the borders of reality, I would be happy to pitch in numerous exotic and otherwise freakish ideas that would get me executed in at least 3 countries.

If you ever get that game on the way, I will be glad to play-test and whine about the ways you can make it better. :D

damn, when I read the first post I thought I would volunteer to be the official bitch, that is, I would bitch about everything and tell everybody how much what they have done sucks and that it could be 10 times better with some changes.

Every project needs a person like that, too bad mandy beat me to it.

Cheer up MeDeFe. I am sure that they could use more then one play tester. With onlyone there is no possibility of arguing between play testers :!:

Both of you! I want to be the official critic, the guy who just complains about everything, and has a generally pervasive air of negativity towards every aspect of the enterprise, no matter how great or insignificant.

That makes 3 of us already.

If you need anyone to stand in for you three, I'll be in.

I would be interested in this....

I have limited knowledge in HTML and other coding, but my networking skills are cherry. I have also got some basic programming abilities.

But this can be learnt....the idea's behind it will be the most important factor....

Epic Fail You guys move away from a .net game *quiver* and progress to a real game, like 2d(actually don't do 2d, animations are a bitch),or 3d all help you, hell all even get you a engine.

PS.

Good luck regardless

Sorry to sully your sensibilities lord of all technical knowledge. My apologies for not serving you better.

Just to clarify - I'm interested in hearing from folks with technical or creative experience to contribute. That means we need folks with skillz (yes, with a 'z') in the following sorts of things:

* Game theorists (for core gaming concepts)
* any .NET language (C# preferred - for the backend engine work)
* HTML, CSS and Javascript (for front end visual work)
* Graphic design (for widgets and whatnots)
* Writers (for marketing copy and documentation)

Even if you are very new to these sorts of things and are looking to get your feet wet, obtaining mentoring is not a problem. All the technical tools you need for this project are freely available.

Roughly, I would guess you'd have to commit about 8-24 hours a month to participate.

No financial reward is promised (or even expected), however all will share in any that comes.

At this time, we don't need play-testers because there's nothing to play.

Oh, I can also criticize gaming concepts, the design and marketing strategies, I'm not particular.

I'm an arty type of guy! But I do mainly pencil work and never really tried much digital work aside from various compostions (as seen in signutures on this very forum!) and inking scanned pictures :D.

I can both write and theorize at will.

I once had a theory that if you got enough monkeys and enough typewriters then they'd probably learn to eat the typewriters, then they'd thrive and overthrow you. With their minds.

So am I in yet?

If you can churn out a primate versus office equipment into an MMO concept, you're in.

I TOTALLY understand what that means! You want a monkey destroying a fax machine, but only in concept form, like at the auto show! I'm on it!

I've set up a open source project site, group forum, blog (all on Google) as well as carved out some space on my production website. I was very impressed with how quickly I could set up all the group-ware on Google that I needed.

The project name is Noggin Café - but the game(s) can be called whatever the team decides.

Visit http://noggincafe.com to participate.

This project isn't open to just CC folks, but I'd like to see at least some of the spirit and passion here applied in developing different games. You spamming wankers (you know who you are) need not apply  .

Thanks to lack and the mods for not squashing this solicitation - and I want to reiterate that this effort isn't anything in the vein of building a better Conquer Club

I'm interested, I theorize games all the time its fun for me, and I also am a graphic designer with 2 years under my belt so far, as well as a bunch of variety in experience... my homepage button links to my designy abstract style of art, but I'm also studying realism, I just started but if you want to see what I got so far in realism pm me :)

I am more of a critic. I think that me esteemed Dancing colegue is wrong about monkies owerthrowing us with their minds. Professor Mustard, your theory is just reiddiclus! Shurly monkeis would overthrow us by developing and mastering a new form of Martial Arts, which would rely heavily on the devastating power of the typewriter (Type Kwan Do).

Did I pass the interview? :D
