What about 2008 Beijing. I have only seen Salt Lake City on tv though.

I dare say not too many of us have been to the Olympic Games, especially considering the price of tickets and availability and whatnot.

Does anyone else think that the olympics are a waste of money and energy?
Also, the Beijing games next year are lined up to be pretty damn awful, the pollution levels over there are disgusting. I'm hoping in the not too distant future there are no more olympics... but that's just me

i'm hoping in the future you arent ever in a position to make that call, but thats just me :D
the Olympics is possibly the most poignant show of international unity remaining, i mean its just sport, but its something everyone watches together, and i can think of much bigger wastes of money, also Olympics tend to generate a lot of revenue so they usually pay themselves off for the people spending the money.

To be truthful, I say that the Olmpic Games is a spending of citizens' money to create and train athletes, but sometimes it's not all used in the Olympics(like corruption?).

I might go to the 2012 olympics given it's location but tbh I'm one of the people who think we should never have got the games. The only good thing about it was beating france :D

damn, i wish the the 2010 olympic games were somewhere else, I live in vancouver and already there are many protest and problems here concerning the olympics. yes, i do like the olympics but when it happens this place is going to be hell (well not exactly), but still. A lot more poeple, traffic, pollution, garbage, I dont want this city to become like an American City/metropolis, no offence. Money is spent on building houses and places for athletes and tourists to stay, but none for the poor and homeless who really need it.

oh well, i hope im not here when it comes. lol

you should ad a "I watch all of the games obsessively on TV, but ive never been to one" option.

I didn't go to the winter Olympics in salt lake city, but a girl in my class did and she brought souvenirs for everyone and I still have it, so that counts :D

Ill go to the 2012 games. I've visited the Olympic site and stadiums for the Sydney games when I went on holiday there, very nice.
