Years ago I walked into a pub in Zagreb, next to the Inter Continental Hotel. HUGE Pub. I say to the Barman, 2 Pints. He says We're Out. I say , okay, 2 Wines, He says we're out. I say what do you have? He points to a row of 50 Bottles across the top of his Bar. And says there is a Tiny amount in the 1st 3 Bottles.
I laugh and say have you been drank Dry? He looks at me as if I'm absolutely MENTAL and says 'Drank Dry? I've already been drank Dry and FULLY re-stocked by the Brewery 3 FUCKING TIMES today. They next re-stock which is due any minute will be the Fourth'.
Anyway, The GLASGOW RANGERS won last night.....ON PENALTY's. Very Exciting. They should be your Scottish Team M8, they are also known as 'The Teddy Bears'!
And regarding The Chicago Bears.....I lobe the RE-BUILDING T-SHIRTS:

U.S. Travel Association: FIFA 2026 World Cup Task Force a Welcome Development
Freeman and his staff will work with President Trump ahead of 48-team event
President Donald Trump has signed many executive orders since moving back into the White House, but for the U.S. Travel Association and its President and CEO Geoff Freeman, the order signed on March 7 was the most important.
That particular order created a task force to focus on the staging of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, starting June 11, 2026. The task force will be chaired by Trump. Vice President JD Vance will serve as vice chair, and an executive director — to be named soon — will run day-to-day operations.
“We’re thrilled to see the Trump administration make the World Cup a priority,” said Freeman. “We believe strongly that we need some type of White House coordination to bring together these disparate agencies — Department of Transportation, State, Homeland Security, Commerce — everybody playing a role in building a successful event.
“We’ve got to get moving. The World Cup is only 16 months away and the window is closing to get some of these key issues, visas and customs really worked out. We can’t move fast enough. We’re excited to see this group come together and we’re eager to work with them.”
Why Do Some People Call Football “Soccer”?
One of the best-known differences between British and American English is the fact that the sport known as football in Great Britain is usually called soccer in the United States. Because the sport originated in England, it is often assumed that soccer is an Americanism. In fact, the word is thoroughly British in origin. So why is it that Americans (not to mention Canadians, Australians, and others) are likelier to use the word than Brits are? The answer lies in how the sport developed in each country.
Although football-type games have been around for centuries, the sport we know today is often said to have begun in 1863, when England’s newly formed Football Association wrote down a set of rules. At the time, it was the most widely played game of its kind in the country, but it wasn’t the only one. Rugby football, named after an English boarding school, was a variation that allowed players to carry and run with the ball to advance it toward the goal. The game played under the Football Association’s rules thus became known as association football.

Two years ago we became champions after 66 years and after an unbelievable last matchday where 3 teams could be champion before matches started. During that last matchday the other 2 teams both were champion, first Bruges then Genk but at minute 93:33 Toby Alderweireld (ex Ajax, Tottenham...) fired a belter from out of the box straight into top left corner and that strike made it 2-2 and made us champions of Belgium.

Beaten Barcelona 3-2 at home in CL in 2023. Followed them through europe but not always, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Plzen, and lots of others for the last 40 years.
Also I'm a fan of our national team, the Red Devils. Also did awaydays in Bosnia, Scotland, France....
In 1994 on our honeymoon in the USA I saw Belgium-Holland 1-0 and Belgium-Morocco 1-0 at the Citrus Bowl during the World Cup. Big party afterwords in "partystreet" (can't remember streetname anymore) in downtown Orlando.
Visited stadiums without Antwerp or Belgium reason: 2024 San Siro (AC Milan-Bologna), Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund-Bochum), Old Trafford (Manu-Wolves), 2023 Stade Pierre Mauroy (Lille-Monaco), 2022 Corendon Airlines Park (Antalyaspor-Adana Demirspor)....in the eighties De Kuip (Feyenoord-Sparta Rotterdam) and Ziggodome (Ajax-Den Haag).
Besides Antwerp also a big fan of Liverpool (visited Anfield Road 3 times). Great city also. In other big football countries I fancy Rayo Vallecano (marvelous jersey), Palermo, Hearts, Koln, Feyenoord, Lorient
That's a bout it for an intro

That said, given that the MLS is ... let's just say not the top league in the worldI took up following Blackburn Rovers somewhere around 2007 and kept with them through their rise and fall - I was really hoping we'd make at least the playoff for promotion this year but that's starting to look dire.
Spent 3 years in China and Beijing Guoan is also one of my teams - one of my favorite bars was right near the stadium in fact - but not nearly as much as the Crew and Rovers.
Oh and of course from the USMNT days Landon Donovan was one of my heroes - but that's practically a given for anyone from the US who follows at all.

September 2013, Defour and Mirallas for the 0-2

Further, there are two different forms of Rugby.
Rugby Union and Rugby League. I will leave you to take a look at the distinctions JP.
League Central Revenue Seating/Suites Team

NFL 66% 17% 10% 2% 6% $18.7B
NBA 41% 26% 12% 13% 8% $10.9B

NHL 19% 44% 14% 12% 12% $6.8B
MLS 13% 39% 29% 0% 18% $2.0B
It’s raining money on football: in 2023, $2.7 BILLION spent on FBS publics' football, $826 million to coaches, and a $25 million gap in median spending between the Haves and Have Nots.
Revenues for the NFL and college football are most definitely not the same. According to Forbes, the 32 teams in the NFL in 2023 averaged $581 million in revenue. The average revenue of the top 32 college football program, by contrast, as reported to the U.S. Department of Education, was only $100 million.
