That's pretty much the default value for government, since the dawn of time. Nothing really new.

Monitor everything you do

Yeah, governments spy incessantly. That too is pretty much default. At least when the government monitors what I do, they do it so they can decide if I need a new highway exit built near my house or whatever. There's tons of corporations out there that monitor everything I do and don't give me anything in return.

A lot of the other things on your list are just nonsense. "Don't let you question it?" WTF? I live in a democracy, we question everything all the time. No matter what the government proposes, I can point to 30 different published opinions about how it should be doing something different. Naturally, there is a social flow and ebb which makes some opinions popular and others unpopular, but that's just a normal part of our tribalist Home sapiens psychology. The government may try to influence it, but it doesn't have nearly as much influence as it thinks it does.

i'm a bit concerned, saxi - GBH set the bar so high, i feel it might be difficult for Wes to match it, much less surpass it. do you have any advice for me? i don't want to be disappointed...

I personally have no particular affiliation with any political party and vote strictly based on my current self-interests. This brings me great joy, freedom, and incidentally, loads of sex-appeal. However, I find Saxi's big, albeit sagging, balls refreshing. Being basically poor and old (I'm assuming based on anecdotal evidence), Saxi has every reason to lean to the left, so to speak, but he chooses to bite the hand that might feed him. I tip my hat to Saxi for sticking to his ideals and acting courageously and defiantly in the face of perceived tyranny.
