Biden: Best ways to mend the fence

Four solid ways Biden could bring unity to America.

1) Biden could ask Pelosi not to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. It's over let him go.

2) Biden could ask Twitter Google Apple to restore Trump's and his staffs and followers accounts. Taking the high road calling for Freedom of Speech for all.

3) Biden could ask the media to stop demeaning Trump and his supporters. There is an election in 2 years.

4) Biden could proactivingly pardon Trump ending the endless witch-hunts.

Why is there an election in 2 years instead of 4?

We have presidential elections every 4 years. Every 2 years we have House elections and some Senate elections. Which could effect Biden's congressional plans or Supreme Court appointments.

1) Plenty of Republicans want him impeached and convicted. The country is already united on this, save for some extremists.

2) Trump could have asked for this as well, but either one would just be asking. Twitter is not a wing of the Gov't, if Trump wants something from twitter he should ask them himself or 'make a deal'.

3) Biden does not control the media. I watched Sean Hannity show yesterday, he abjectly rejected any calls for unity or working with Democrats. Actual quote :Biden’s Address More Like ‘Student Council Speech’ From a Guy ‘Craving a Nap’. This is where you claim the media was unfair to trump and will go easy on Biden right?

4) I actually like this idea, but you have to pardon somebody for something specific that's just how they work... what do you suggest he pardons trump for exactly? The right wing media would say Biden's pardon amounts to an accusation that Trump committed a crime, something Trump and many people on the right aren't yet willing to acknowledge.

I kind of suspect he is not even thinking about Donald Trump right now.

Ah, ok. I was a bit confused because of the count down stuff going around here.

HitRed... we agree.

Though I wouldn’t agree 100% with #4.

I wouldn’t want a blanket pardon for any and all crimes. I would suggest a pardon for any possible political crimes... including “inciting a coup”, or “collaborating with Russia” or things of that nature. I think if they find legit tax or business crimes... either predating his Presidency or during his Presidency... then he should be held accountable like any other businessman.

I disagree... I think most middle-of-the-road people just want it to go away.

A public statement from Joe would show he’s fair and not afraid of political discussion. I would (on the sly) tell Twitter et.al. to warn Trump that if he continues with the fake news and lies that they’ll just shut him again. Give it back, give him a chance, and move on.

Again a public statement goes a long way.

I suggest political ‘crimes’ only. You don’t need a guilty plea or an admission of guilt to issue a pardon.

HitRed, five minutes ago you were passing on remarks from Jesus which said that Biden and his supporters were being led by Satan, and are all going to burn for eternity.
You want 'unity' with Satan now? Is the hellfire cancelled, or only postponed?

1) I meant actual republican elected officials. There is a bi-partisan movement towards impeachment and it has zero to do with Biden.

2+3) You seem really hung on Biden making a bunch of empty pleadings/gestures for things he has nothing to do with. Trump wouldn't even ask Russia to stop meddling in our elections, refused to even acknowledge it happened after his own intelligence agency said so... but Biden should ask Twitter to change it's terms of service? What if they do it? You think Trumps first tweet is gonna be 'thanks Biden, lets all be friends now'? He wouldn't even attend Jan 20th.

4) If Biden pardons Trump for a vague thing like 'Political Crimes', than Biden is suggesting he's guilty of political crimes. Biden cannot in good faith do that if Trump continues to deny he ever committed political crimes. If Trump had resigned monday, I could be 100% on board, but he still denies everything. Politically he's tied Bidens hands on a pardon.

Resign.

Apologize to his rape victims.

Donate one of his mansions to COVID relief.

Start wearing cologne to mask the old man/decomposing corpse smell.

Just to remind you of "God";s previous attitude...

I see the great destruction of your country. Those that work on the side of the enemy, the evil one, are hard at work to bring down this great country which was founded on me and my laws. Those who seek evil are greedy and lust for what they seek - power. This is all they think about and dream about - the power that they seek and lust for. In the end, it will not be enough to satisfy their hunger and lust.

They will fall by their own hand. They will slip and fall on their own devices. My will, will prevail over the enemy and all will be thrown into the fires of Hell. Their reward is who they seek, the leader of all evil, Satan. They will burn forever in the flames that are never quenched.

It’s not already built?

Trump promised to build an impenetrable wall on our southern border... AND have Mexico pay for it.
Are you telling me that promise wasn’t kept?

1) If Republican Senators actually vote to impeach Trump they are only doing it to purge him from the party and prevent him running again.

2+3) I understand his words in these cases have no ‘power’... but he does have the Bully-Pulpit and that carries weight. I realize Trump would not do what I am suggesting Biden do... I also realize Trump is unlikely to change. That doesn’t mean that his words won’t help heal the country. I think they would. He needs to show he’s better than Trump to middle-of-the-road Republicans before they slip back to partisan ways.

4) Biden can pardon Trump regardless of what Trump says. K am not suggesting he be pardoned for ‘vague’ political crimes. I was quite specific in my suggestion.

Maybe It is half done. He was planning on being president for 4 terms.

I don't understand why anyone is opposed to the wall. It's an international border. You are supposed to go through customs in both directions. The wall is only there to help encourage everyone to get permission to enter either country.

You know, like Windows on a capital building. In fact, it is basically a tall strong fence.

I laughed, but I could still drive to several states I like, so... this has some merit.

Did you draw that? Are you moving?
