My wife was just reading the bank of Canada is going change the currency act to remove legal tender status from Canadian paper bills.

I'll see if there is any good articles on the googles and maybe return with an update.

This change will affect the $1, $2, $25, $500 and $1,000 notes, which are no longer being produced. Essentially, this means that Canadians will no longer be able to use them in transactions.

Most Canadians will not be affected because the bank notes targeted by this announcement have not been produced in decades and are rarely used in transactions.

Looks like your 10,20,50,100 and 500,000 dollar bills are still all good.

It's another scumbag move. Basically, the only people who use the pinkies are money launderers, which is kind of a cool game where you play pranks on the police. The police are a bunch of fun-hating homophobes (source: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rcmp-m ... -1.5807022 ), so rather than have fun playing the game, they change the rules.

The $1000 bill was last printed in 2000, the $500 last printed in 1935 the $25 was a ceremonial bill, the $1s and $2s have been coins for years.

All the bills can be turned into any bank and deposited.
If you were lucky enuff to have a $25 its prolly worth a small fortune.
