Also, Puerto Rico voted to become a state ...

With the 2020 ballot measure now approved, the governor will appoint a seven-member commission to represent the territory in negotiations with the United States. The process for adding states to the union isn’t set in stone, but generally requires the territory to present a plan to Congress and the president, after which a simple majority approval in the U.S. House and Senate, followed by the president’s signature, can result in the territory’s admission as a state.

You forgot the Northern Mariana Islands. None of them have a different status from each other. They are all considered unincorporated territories, meaning they are property of the United States (colonies) but not part of the United States; in other words they could legally be sold or given independence if Congress wanted to do that. Montana and California are incorporated territories meaning they form part of the United States and are inseparable from it.

The three Associate States - the Republic of Palau, the Marshal Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia - are in a state of "free association" and can terminate their relationship with the United States whenever they want.

yeah I guess it's the same thing compared to what we do... DOM (department of outer seas) and TOM (territory of outer seas). I couldn't list them all because we have way too many all over the globe. Your little list is cute though!

You could have all of ours if you want. They're worthless jungles populated by criminals. Should work well as a French department.

I'd get you to ask him about the Wxwhere he is but I'll just go look it up online.

It's cold and wet here, gnarly. I don't like it.

Have a good week.
