Due to my cancelled USA trip (which was a work prize) The company in question has paid me out with a VERY nice Master Card.
So I have some money dropped from heaven. After many days...weeks.. MONTHS of "Man Moaning", I have been given the green light to build a new PC.

NOW.

The NVIDIA 3000 series cards are about to be released.. they look good.. and I want one. But I notice that the price here is COVID FREE PERTH is around double what is being asked for in the US.

After some research, I feel that us mere Aussies are being ROYALLY ROOTED on PC components.

here is what I am looking at, as a BASE start, and I can get the parts here in Perth for around the same price as online.
https://www.scorptec.com.au/bundle/CPU/ ... gLI2PD_BwE

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
Gigabyte GA-X570 Aorus Elite WiFi Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4
Corsair CX650M Power supply
Gigabyte 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SDD (FOR WINDOWS 10)
Crucial MX500 500GB M.2 2280 SSD (FOR PORN)

The above will cost me $1,660.00 Aussie.. up to $1,856.00 for the next version Motherboard.

This is without the Graphics card which my research has found should be around 30-40% of your build budget
SOOO... $1139 for the RTX 3080 is really pushing things up there.
https://press-start.com.au/news/2020/09 ... RTX%202080.

I am looking for advice, and the best place to ask is from the community of people that "Know things about pigeons"
Any comments/suggestions are welcome before I let it rip on this card.

PS.... Sorry Catcher, I cannot make it for your planned hot-tub event, your country has been deemed a COVID hot/NO GO zone, but with a new PC, I can stream you some action.

I'd ask yourself if it's really worth it or not.

My computer caught a virus so I quarantined it for 14 days and then submerged it in warm water with soap (like Fauci and the CDC recommend). Far from fixing it, now it doesn't work at all.

Thanks, Obama! :x

Usually I recommend getting a third party card because they come pre-overclocked and have more ports. However, this is the first card that has more expensive 3rd party cards. Strange.

I have had good experiences with the ZOTAC cards.

However, they aren't even out over here yet...

If your computer had been practicing social distancing and stayed away from you it would probably be in good shape now.

My opinion is that is a huge waste of money and a far less powerful machine for c. $300 would do you fine, but then you might need all that RAM, processing power etc. for all the DDoS attacks you host while also streaming super HD porn onto your home cinema screen idk.

No, that's just Trump's trade war and unlimited sanctions on any technology company that is better than America's (i.e. all of them).

He's right, Conquer Club will still lag occasionally.
