Full disclosure: I'm pretty pissed right now. Been waiting so long for a day off, had high hopes, have dinner reservations at a place I've always wanted to try, have some friends coming, was going to have a few drinks, maybe a toke, maybe a leisurely night. Just got the phone call. The bosses have decided the holiday ends at midnight so I can resume production at midnight. Which means no drinks or tokes at dinner, just looking at the clock, probably answer half a dozen work-related calls in the middle of dinner.

Just over seven hours notice that my holiday is no holiday.

In the month of April, when most of the world had a month's paid vacation, I had one day off in the entire month. Worked 29 days out of 30. May was a little better, June is back to the shit. I've gained 15 pounds in the last month from the constant stress eating. My sugar is out of control for the first time in 18 months. I just want to walk into head office with a machete and kill every last cocksucking parasite in the place.

Happy Canada Day to those lucky enough to work in a union shop and actually have their days off respected.

I'm guessing he has to sober up 12 hours before shift. Makes it so you can barely get a buzz between them. Three or four beers right after shift then hit the sack. Since they called him in for midnight he probably had less than 12 hours and couldn't even have one.
