BBC rubbishes 'seriously flawed' Harvard smear campaign

Postby mrswdk on Thu Jun 18, 2020 6:11 am

In this age of disinformation, even Harvard University appears to have been sucked into the propaganda machine.

Following Harvard's publication of a paper claiming COVID-19 started spreading in Wuhan in August 2019, the BBC and various independent scientists have examined the paper and completely rubbished it on the grounds that it makes its wild claims based on several significantly misleading and distorted assumptions:

There's been criticism of a study from the US suggesting that the coronavirus could have been present in the Chinese city of Wuhan as early as August last year.

The study by Harvard University, widely publicised when released earlier this month, has been dismissed by China and had its methodology challenged by independent scientists.

We've looked at the techniques used in the report and found shortcomings both in the use of satellite imagery and online search data, raising significant doubts about its overall findings.

The shoddy nature of this study probably explains why the study authors failed to submit it for peer review prior to publishing it. They knew it would get rejected from peer review for being a piece of shit hatchet job.

All of which begs the question: are there any American institutions that can be trusted or are they all just national security threats operating as agents of the American government? Should other countries ban Apple from selling phones to their citizens? We say - yes!
