The UN rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, who led the UN’s investigation into the assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, says she has observed ‘repeated’ violations of international law in the US Government response to current protests, including the misuse of so-called ‘non-lethal’ weapons and techniques (e.g. rubber bullets, tear gas) against journalists and peaceful protestors:

When will European governments like France and the UK enforce military measures against this brutal regime, as they did in Libya, Syria etc?

I just love how so-called “experts” throw around condemnations from miles away... while police officers (who are mostly middle class people with families and outside lives) have to stand there and get pelted by rocks or worse.

I also dislike the characterization of police force being used on protestors.
I would say it’s used on rioters, not protestors.

Yeah, it's not like the U.S. ever has opinions about matters which are far away, or ever interferes, after all.

yup, that's why we elected Trump ... and that's why the last three presidents all voted against him; under Trump, the age of hypocrisy is winding down

Apart from when he interferes in Hong Kong, or the South China Sea, or Taiwan etc.

I don’t support US intervention in general either.

Re. The Hong Kong riots... I don’t think the US should do diddly squat about that.
Or the US “Commitment” to defend Taiwan from China... I think that’s baloney and we wouldn’t follow through anyway.

Obviously tweeting (Trump) represents a trajectory of improvement over bombing (Obama / Bush / Clinton / Bush / Reagan).

Tweeting represents an improved deniability for the deaths created by the tweets...

Pelosi and Schumer are under fire for their latest publicity stunt that involved wearing Kente cloth sashes at a memorial they decided to organize for George Floyd (who, before his death, was most famous for once holding a pregnant woman at gunpoint) in the Capitol. Kente cloth?

The statue of King Kamehameha looks like he's saying WTF is this shit? I'm surprised they didn't try to throw one of those sashes over him because ... like, the statue is black, so close enough!
