So I played K-12 but don't watch a ton of it. The last year, Megan Rapinoe is the obvious choice for me. But over the last 8 years... I'd have to go with Neymar. I'm sure it's just the games I have caught and I'm wrong, but I usually see him playing pretty hard up and down the field where as anytime I check in on a Messi or Ronaldo game, they are doing a lot of waiting and then they get the ball and shoot.

Nothing on espn soccer. Maybe it was just speculation. There is not a lot to talk about in the sports world. Gotta fill the time. I love the Jordan/bulls last dance doc but man, I am really tired of hearing them talk about it on sports radio

Even if the ligue 1 is not at the level of the premier league, if PSG was playing premier league they would definitely play for the title, with strong chances of being champions.

Your questin is a bit to broad to even answer because I can't really... there is always the supporter in you that has a biaised vision of all this...

but yeah, the real question here is... will messi and cristiano be considered the two best players of all time once they retire? I mean it's normal, right now they are still active and we tend to see more their defects and the fact that they are aging.... but both of them have brought over a decade of never seen stats, titles and mouth opening goals and plays. It's also very hard to compare eras... Di Stefano, PelƩ, Beckenbauer, cruyff, Maradona, Platini, Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho.... there are skills, there is luck with injuries, there is luck with teams you're in, and then there is your mental capacities which is arguably the most important variable... and guys like messi and cristinao are robots in that aspect

id agree 100% PSG would be running for the top of the table, it would actually be fun to see a "super league"

but yes ofc its always going to be bias, like im an arsenal fan, so ofc i like more arsenal players, but viera and henry both doly deserve the goat title, messi and c.ronaldo will undeniably go down as the era's greatest and id never argue that, youd be mad if you did, such exciting players to watch, absolute legends, i try and disrgard alot of propaganda against players based on league and team and all the jazz, its obvious they are some of the most skilled players ever to play the game...

but i like both concepts, again this thread really is just to showcase great players of the sport. not to say who is the BEST EVER, cuz its just impossible to transcend eras of football professionally

lol, as soon as I saw Viera on that list I knew you had to be an Arsenal fan.

Henry was sick. I also used to like watching Seaman, and the old school Campbell/Adams duo (back when Arsenal could still defend).

Others: Drogba, van Dijk, Schmeichel, Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Kahn. Maybe (Ashley) Cole as well, I like watching a good roaming wing back at work. And Roberto Carlos taking any free kick.

fck me writing that list reminded me just how good Arsenal used to be. Henry, Adams, Campbell, Viera, Cole, Lehman, Bergkamp - all in the same squad.

With the qualifier that I haven't actually watched that many games that Ozil has played in, one of his problems is that he sometimes looks (or has looked) pretty lacklustre, like he's only half there. I get that a lot of that stemmed from his relationship with Wenger/Emery but it doesn't make him much fun to watch. Same goes for Pogba as well.

Thinking of Man Utd, I do really like Rashford though. He's not quite there yet but he reminds me of young Michael Owen. Aguero's also great to watch.

It's Vieira, not viera.... it means scallop in portuguese and in galician, just so you know. Yes, this midfielder you've adored is called scallop.

I'm a Marseille and betis fan.
Honestly, if I'm going to talk about players I've really loved (and that I actually saw playing), I'll talk about the ones in my clubs/national team
Betis: Alfonso, Finidi, Jarni, Alexis, Jaro, Oliveira, Edu, AssunƧao, Joaquin, Ruben Castro, Fabian Ruiz
Marseille: Di Meco, Papin, Mozer, Waddle, Abedi PelƩ, Boli, SauzƩe, Drogba, Ravanelli, Blanc, RibƩry, Niang, Mandanda..
France: Trezeguet, Henry, Zidane, Djorkaeff, Vieira, Blanc, Desailly, Thuram, Lizarazu, Deschamps, Barthez, M'bappƩ, Pogba, RibƩry, Lloris, Griezmann, Varane...

ive only been at three professional games, it was quite some time ago also; newcastle vs PSV Endihoven in the 2nd leg UEFA qtr final, newcastle still had a good line up then, but was on the verge when sir bobby robson was losing the plot a bit, I was also at deportivo vs newcastle 2005

the other game was a random FA cup game few years later and we actually left during the game with how fucking terrible it was so i barely remember when this game happened

wish i was in europe more to see more games, never did i get to see arsenal play at highbury, i did at least get to see the stadium before it turned into condos lol

I haven't been to that many game... let's see what I can remember...

french league:
NƮmes-Guingamp
Marseille-Istres (held in NƮmes' stadium)
Saint-Etienne - Metz
Monaco-Saint-Etienne
Monaco-Marseille

french cup:
NƮmes-Monaco
Marseille-Sochaux (french cup final)

Spanish league
Malaga-Betis

UEFA cup
PSG-some obscure hungarian team
Saint-Etienne - some obscure moldavian team

Champions league
Lille-Manchester United
AC Milan-Marseille

Chelsea-Marseille

Eurocup
France-italy (2008, Zurich)

World Cup
Japan-Brazil (2006, dortmund)
France-Togo (2006, Koln)

World Cup qualifier
France-Albania (2012)

so in terms of stadiums..
France: Nîmes (Costières), Saint-Etienne (Geoffroy-Guichard), Paris (Parc des Princes), Monaco (Louis II), Saint Denis (Stade de France)
Spain: Malaga (Rosaleda)
Switzerland: Zurich (whatever that stadium was called)
Germany: Dortmund (wesfalenstadion), Koln (whatever that stadium was called)
Italy: Milan (San Siro)
England: London (Stamford Bridge)

I probably forgot something... but it was fun to remember all this. At the end of the day I went to see games in all 5 major european countries now that I think about it. In red are invites i got from providers with my former job.

How long ago were you at Stamford Bridge? Did they still have standing terraces back then?

I've barely been to any internationals. England are too depressing to watch and I cba to travel abroad to watch other countries. I go to a fair few EPL/Championship club games though. One of my favourites to date was the Man City v Chelsea FA Cup final where Sarri substituted Kepa, Kepa refused to come off and the two of them had a stand-off for like 5-6 minutes until Sarri eventually gave up and let him stay on.

lol of course i remember that game!

stamford bridge... 2010 or 2011 when I used to live in london.. one of my best friends there is a hard core chelsea fan and he has yearly tickets with his dad.. his dad couldn't come and he let me take his dad's ticket knowing I'm a marseille fan... it finished 1-1 if I remember correctly. We were behind a goal where some hard core chelsea fans are, he made me wear a chelsea cap and he told me not to say a word if marseille scores or they'd kick the shit out of me. I had to hide my "yessss" when we equalized lol. DUring the game those chelsea boys were just casually talking about the brawl they had upcomming as milwall and QPR were playing at the same time and they were going up there for a three way.

I once watched a game sat in the stands with fans of the opposing team; never again.

Millwall have always been legendary for their insane fans. Even now, when football hooliganism has long since passed, away fans visiting Millwall travel to and from the ground via a train that only away fans are allowed on and are then funnelled into the ground via a walkway surrounded by huge fences and with police shielding them at either end. The last time i was at a Millwall game we pumped them something like 4-1, and by the last 20 minutes there were all these angry skinhead guys trying to climb over the fence into the away stands and being pushed back by the wall of police who'd been position in their way to preempt them. In the old days the away stand was apparently surrounded by a big steel cage to make it physically impossible for the home fans to get at the away fans.

but are you an arsenal fan or a sunderland fan? not sure if the mackem magpie derby is newcastle sunderland or something else

mrs... I don't think you ever told me if you supported a particular club. TBH... I'd imagine you being either a chelsea or a tottenham fan... i know they hate each other... but definitely not arsenal for you

I never really had an english club I support, already enough in my hands with one from france and one from spain... being a french guy who's been a very large chunk of his life in spain and started watching football in spain as a kid
