I would think it forutnate if they could clone a new liver or something for you if you had cancer or liver disease... I don't think we need DUPLICATES of ourselves, but spare parts would be handy.

this is what i am talking about their not COPIES!!!! THEY JUST HAVE THE genetic material thier own minds. they could differ greatly. they born the same way as non clones.

i wouldn't care. purpose comes to mind. for medical purposes would be fine. HOWEVER i would not support cloning someone completely, and then using them as a guinea pig to test the effects of medicine, new surgery, dissection, or to study a new disease by deliberately infecting the clone with it.

but that woundnt happen they are human. its the dna thats the same. you may as well kill the one who was cloned. i can assure you they would not be dissected. and i belive the organ you seem confused is stem cells which isnt accually cloning.

Do you have a biophysics degree? Molecular biology? Anything?
If not, why are you acting like you know all about this issue?
Where have you read your facts from?

i can't understand you at all.
and no, i am not confusing cloning with stem cells. stem cells are perfectly fine; i mean, they come from ABORTED babies! it should be ok to take stem cells from babies that are already dead instead of just discarding them because of "moral issues".

im not acting like i know everything. you cant clone organs we dont have that ablity.

Actually, we do and we already HAVE cloned organs...
Nice to know you ARE talking without knowing shit.

I've always thought if we could find an effective cheap way to clone cow muscle, it could do wonders to the food shortage problem.
I put animals only.

do you know what cloning is. you take a cell from the donor tkae out the nucles and then put its in nucles less egg cell induce shock anf they fuse and grow up to be a baby. you would have to farm the baby to get organs.

You fool....
"Therapeutic cloning: (a.k.a. Somatic cell nuclear
transfer or research cloning): This starts with the same procedure as
is used in adult DNA cloning. The resultant embryo would be allowed to
grow for perhaps 14 days.
It's stem cells would then be extracted and
encouraged to grow into a piece of human tissue or a complete human
organ for transplant. The end result would not be a human being; it
would be a replacement organ, or piece of nerve tissue, or quantity of
skin.
The first successful therapeutic cloning was accomplished in
2001-NOV by Advanced Cell Technology, a biotech company in Worcester,
MA."
Please know what you are talking about before posting again.

Ive got mixed feelings about this.
I do not want it to be a standard thing for humans to be directly cloned, but if it is going to save somebodies life, I would allow cloning of organs/tissues. At the end of the day, it is all medical advancement that I would want to see this benefit, not an army of re-spawned stalins.

in truth, if you had "problems typing", at most you would just misspell words. this is not the case.

You don't HARVEST organs from a living person, jackass. You stimulate organ growth out of stem-cells... That is CLONING!!!
Please, READ BEFORE YOU POST AGAIN.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

i doubt we would do that just for a few organs or some tissue; don't stem cells do that? i see no other purpose for a fully cloned human then as a guinea pig, or to replace those kidnapped (Halo novels)

Actuall, stem cell usage uses therapuetic cloning, so stem cell research effectively uses cloning as a part of the process.....not that I have a problem with stem cell research.

no stem cells do not reatin the gentic material of the person who had them. this is growing an entierly new organ

Please re-read, I never said that I wanted a fully fledged cloned human being, in fact i said the opposite.
