More than 70 percent of COVID-19 coronavirus patients in Israel were infected by a strain that originated in the United States, according to a new study by Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Adi Stern of Tel Aviv University's School of Molecular Cell Biology and Biotechnology told The Jerusalem Post that Israelis who returned from the U.S. created “transmission chains.”

Researchers reached this conclusion after comparing genomic sequences of Israeli patients to 4,700 genomic sequences from different areas around the world.
Israel witnessed hardly any infections imported from China, South Korea, or Singapore.

I agree with Jim. What else is implied?

Many Jews in the NYC area were hit with COVID-19 early on. Before lock down and travel restriction, many Jews likely continued to travel, including to Israel. Are there any surprises?

Further, indications are that the NYC area outbreak was due to travel, especially from Italy. And where did those Italians get COVID-19? Let see if people can or have determined that and enlighten us. Should those of us paying attention be surprised?

So the answer is no, you don’t understand virus morphology.

I’m not a PhD in the subject, but based on your comments and level of comprehension... my level of knowledge must seem like that to you.

Don’t convolute or confuse my comments with JPFun’s.
My comments don’t talk about “New York City Jews”.

My point is simply that the data the study provides is evidence of travel patterns and is useful in tracking the spread of the virus. It doesn’t then take the leap to determine or provide evidence that the US is the “#1 Public Health Menace” as you claim. Your claim based on that evidence is a giant leap in logic that skips several steps. I’m sure you know this so stop playing dumb.

I’m also not going to attempt to lay out a detailed explanation of viral evolution for you, as I would need more time and graphs and can’t be bothered.

I will say, it’s possible that 70% of Israelis are infected by a strain that originated in the US... but these could’ve come from a small number of people early in the epidemic and who were moving a lot in Israel; whereas the remaining 30% could have strains that morphed elsewhere, but these people got infected later after the lockdown occurred and so these people haven’t spread the virus as widely.

Did you actually read the article you posted? It specifically talks about groups arriving from NYC who were not quarantined. They even found one Isreali who signed a document saying he would self-quarantine and had a place to do so; when he didn’t and had no intention to self-quarantine.

Based on the article ITSELF it seems more likely that the spread (in Israel) has a lot more to do with Israel’s response than anything the US did or didn’t do.

China punishes Australia because Australia are one of the many countries pushing for an inquiry into the covid 19 outbreak.

Australia have become too reliant on Chinese trade. Other countries should take heed to this and stop importing inferior Chinese goods.
