No but... I will be going to the Big Island next week then Maui the week after.
Everyone I have met from the Internet has had fun hanging out with me except Metsfanmax and Isaiah40. Might be my anti social wife that ruined it for them though. She raided the blueberry patch at ElRancho Koolbak while the men talked, so there was no conflict there.

Since I presume you are going to Oahu and not one of the other Islands, here's my recommendations.
- North shore shrimp trucks.
Giovanni's is probably the most famous, can't remember the one I liked best. Even the worst one was good. - Dole plantation.
- Honolulu.
Chinatown during the day is fun and there are a few good eating places. - The Zoo.
Particularly the Chimpanzee enclosure.
We got there at feeding time and it was amazing. They had an employee explain how the hierarchy worked while they fed them. - Diamond Back.
If you like walking up hills that overlook Waikiki Beach. - Senior Frog's.
Margaritas, beer, or Soft Drinks, with Nachos, loud and tacky, the urinals looked like the Rolling Stones mouth about 11 years ago.
You could get a three day bus pass for two adults and it was around the same cost as a one day car rental. On that island the busses go pretty much everywhere. We explored the entire island with it.
Got stuck over by North shore because of a really bad car accident on the two lane high way. Eventually they cleared it and a bus came. Other wise the busses come fairly often.
Edit: Senor Frogs is gone.

Tour Big Mo. Very cool.
Most people don't vacation on oahu though....if you're going to Kauai, I've been there 30+ times...lots of suggestions.

I believe many flights between Aus and North America stop there.
I actually like Oahu but I enjoy checking out both simple rural places and large cities in the US.
When we went to Australia our flight changed in Oahu so we opted for a couple days stop to scope it out with the nearly three year old daughter. It was pretty affordable then so we loved it. Returned a few years later and everything was much more expensive. Still a fairly good place to chill.
We have not made it to Kauai.. Maybe one day.

Well don't go there now. No groceries, gas, essential supplies. Buds that live there indicate it's worse than here, and that's bad.

Oh joy.
Like I could weasel out of it. I'm going tuesday unless they cancel flights or stop admitting Canucks.
I'll let you know if I can't get a hamburger but have Internet. Might be teaching my kids how to harvest feral piggies. I don't even like pork.
Maui will have supplies but I might have to dress as a doorman at one of the higher end properties and try to get some big gratuities so I can afford things. Other wise it's mongoose stew.

Yeah, unless you got dogs and a big ass rifle, you do NOT wanna be around the "piggies"

HUGE problem on kauai....

One of the few down sides to ending up stranded there is my Dog and Bitch will be at home.
No piggies on Maui, it's going to be mongoose, feral roosters and shore fishing there.
Them mongoose and cock chickens can be mean sumbitches, keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Never mind, our flights are cancelled. I guess it'll be rabbit stew and trout at home. Hopefully the temperature will eventually come up and I can put out the crayfish trap.
Maybe some other time Raz.

That was only for if I was going to end up being stuck there trying to get critters for eatin'.
Have you ever been chased by a rooster? I'm not kidding about them being mean. My grandma had one that made trips to the outhouse scary. One day they didn't want to tell me but he was supper, it might be wrong but I was kind of happy to eat him. Last trip to Maui we saw a couple of them fighting near a market we stopped at. Wife didn't like that, a local showed up and broke it up. It was pretty gnarly before that guy got there.
Kept my distance from the Maui mongeese. They were adorable but they can kill snakes, so obviously they are tougher than me, though probably way less of a random threat to people than those frigging wild boars. Fortunately I have only ever seen videos of those things.

Yeah kauai is absolutely overrun with those damn chickens. Aggressive but puntable
The cranked out homeless are a much bigger problem. Just like here, they live everywhere now....hell of a problem.
