I used to edit videos with some aspect of Windows media. But the facility seems to have gone, or I'm too stupid to find it. I have an existing video about one of my murder dinners - but it's an old one, and includes some out-of-date contact details which I need to delete or update. I'm trying to find venues to rund some games here in Davis, something I haven't had the time to do in the last few years. Any advice? Here's the thing I want to edit... you'll see me make a brief appearance as Detective Doug Deeply toward the end.

Thank you for that information. Having never watched any gay porn, I wouldn't have known that.

Nothing is easy on older Windows video editing software.
Remember the early part of the century when Windows seemed spicifically designed to waste several hours of your time a few times per year with service pack updates?
Apple is easier but you might save money hiring a production company to do it.
There might be some open source free programs, that works on a PC. I was looking into Linux based programs last year but my poor 13 year old lap top did not like trying to run it off a USB stick. That method was asking a bit too much for video editing.
If you lived here I would recommend a couple of computer shops that still have guys working in them that are helpful and many shops that do not.
I finally edited a video for YouTube on my phone that was new last fall. I'm not sure if you could get it on and off a phone but the android video editor is easy enough for me to use and that's impressive.
I'll try to ask my buddy if I remember. And possibly someone st one of the shops. I'll post here if I find anything inexpensive/free & decent.

OK I'll double post for brevity. I have not gone through the new information. This is an opinion piece about Free Open Source Soft ware, hence the acronym, foss.
This was one of the places I was looking for things online in 2017. It was updated on New Year's Day.
The list is for Linux but Openshot has options for Windows. I think a couple others do too.

So I seem to have done the editing in YouTube itself. Apparently it will take some time to process - I'll report back later.

Are you going into YouTube studio on your browser?
Which browser?

It seems to have worked, though I had to take two runs at it, one to snip off the beginning logo and one to remove the contact details at the end. Later I'll attempt to add a new intro and outro.

I can see it, but I'm having difficulty linking to my linkedin. Can someone take a look and make sure it's working generally?

It seemed to play through fine and there were no contact details.

Excellent, thanks. Now I have to work out why I can't link it to my LinkedIn profile.
