The foreign emoluments clause is not phony, however, and is enshrined in the US Constitution — Article I, Section 9, Paragraph 8.

The provision bars public officials from receiving gifts or cash from foreign or state governments without congressional approval.

The foreign emoluments clause states: "No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under the United States, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

if you cannot tell Trump was getting ready to say ' case Bullsh*t ' on the end of that sentence and self-edited himself, then switched to another thing on his mind.. then yeah sure thing..

Did I ever mention BI is BS (LEFT-CENTER BIAS)? This is common with the "in crowd" such as the editors of BI.

And to be honest, I would like to call BS on this as well. The article prevents the POTUS from receiving gifts. It has squat to do with the companies he might own directly or indirectly through stocks (often in the case of Presidents generally placed in blind trusts). The idea of selecting a specific property for a specific event has squat to do with the emolument clause and more to do with proper procedures for public bidding, but that's a detail most of the old "Impeach 45" crowd won't understand. How you can convict a POTUS who doesn't even take his legal salary on the clause is beyond me. His personal potential profit for having his own property host the event has to be far less than his annual salary which he doesn't even take.

No, this is the classic case of Projection. It was the Clinton's who profited by being POTUS; hell they even tried to get away with the White House dishes. They turned the White House into a political Bed and Breakfast.

Neither I nor the article brought up impeachment, but you sure took it there pretty quickly. Do you really feel this is an impeachable offense? That's quite an interesting opinion, and it differs greatly from my own. I simply think people shouldn't vote for him because he's the embodiment of corruption.

Also based on your adept observation that he 'wanted' to say bullshit and not phony I've changed the subject in just this post for you.

you post some desperate news about trump saying something . claiming he thinks the constitution is phony.. I explain what trump says providing the actual video of him saying it..
