So basically all threads are now done by nomad patriot, an uninterresting person who joined just a year ago and now people don't even bother to come read this section anymore.

Actually, there are very few people that I can stand having a conversation with in here. And basically no one can stand having a conversation with anyone either. What is this place? Is it because it's a strategy game website that the amount of morons per page is as dense as any comment section on the internet?

Seriously... social medias are shit. People lose all respect and talk about any crap out of their ass because it's just a screen. Not even a voice tone to make your intensions more understandable, if not for using emojis. Why are we so eager to voice our opinions to strangers that will never agree with you?

I left for a couple years, had more to do with my real life than what was happening here.

I do agree that there’s one or two people (ok, just one person) who seems to want all the attention, and that has made this place less fun and less interesting. I think some personalities that may occasionally troll, like Sym, can add to the forum... not everyone has to be the same. That said, I think there was a period of time (IDK 5yrs ago) where the number/diversity of personalities here made this place better.

I don’t know how we can get this place back... maybe if we could ‘vote people off the island’ it would be a start... but that could lead to bad outcomes too. I wish I had a real answer.

I think the OT has basically been taken over by 2-3 hard core american republican trumpets blowing their horn all the time + trolls. I think the international community which I'm part of, if we consider this site to have mostly american people posting, and you could define us as the rest of the world (obviously with some exceptions, not everybody thinks the same), don't even feel like checking what is going on. Too much of an insult to anyone's intelligence and a close minded ethnocentric vision of the world and politics. I know these people exist and I don't want to have to deal with them, it's just a waste of time, they are hopeless.
Just like in real life when i can't stand an aquaintance's radical views and stubborness, I know I will just avoid the conversation. The OT is just about politics and political trolling. I've done my share at some point... Sometimes it's interesting to hear what other people think geopolitically because we all see things from a different prism and our countries give information in a biaised manner (not always intentional). But it's not about learning from others, it's about having the biggest epenis, being the most provocative, irrational, cheeky and unflexible. Attacking others in totally unrelated threads.... again, I'm myself guilty of doing some of this stuff too... this is why this is a pile of shit. Nothing constructive for our lives, and a lot of time wasted.

If there's someone you don't want to read, you can use the foe button to not read them. You can still keep checking the forum and read the people you want to read. If there's not enough positive interaction, you can always add more.

every thread I post is me seeking information from others who might be more fluent in the subject or might inform them on a subject they might not be fluent in... sparking conversations ( the point of a forum...)

but hey Duk.. the 3 separate threads specifically about me posted in the past week.. those.. those are the Meaningful threads for sure... meaningful meaning directly attacking a specific member by name.. ME

you obviously have no problem with these kinds of threads....

hence you allow them to continue without locking them down...
