Nye County and Lincoln County, Nevada have both declared states of emergency over next weekend's "Storm Area 51" event.

Nye County Commissioners were expected to vote Wednesday morning on a preemptive state of emergency ahead of the Storm Area 51 weekend. More than 3 million people signed on to attend the event and Nye County Commissioner Leo Blundo said the vote is in preparation for the worst case scenario.

Meanwhile, the military has warned anyone from approaching Area 51.

"[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area," a spokeswoman told The Washington Post. "The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets."

Meanwhile-2, two Dutchmen have been arrested for coming early.

wouldn't it be funny if area 51 had already been converted into a giant prison.. so anyone attempting to raid it would just get arrested & tossed into it until they pay the fines

Well there was not much of a turn out.

Part of me is disappointed. I did not want there to be a mass slaughter but it would most definitely have been entertaining to see a sizeable crowed get sprayed with a fire hose or something.

Time said there was about 3000 people but I guess they were pretty spread out.

The only video I found with one of the security gates on YouTube seemed to have about 35 people.

There were more people lined up for a fast food chain opening here yesterday.
