if I am in Boston at the end of Aug.. sure why not.. parades are fun.. & it is my sexual orientation..
I supported a gay pride parade a few years ago even though I am not gay.. so I do not see any difference.. supporting people who are proud of their sexual identity is always a good thing.. right..?

There's no need to have pride in being straight. Pride marches are for the freaks of nature to justify their mental illness. FACT!

The parade is the real world equivalent of internet trolling.
Just like this thread is here solely to bait and troll you Nomad. You’d have done better to ignore it.

Am I the only one that thinks this seems like, someone got jealous and simply wants a parade, with no understanding of the point of the original.

your response is the point...

but from what I can gather.. the Irish held the "original Parade" in America.. so …

--> The first parade was on March 17, 1762 — fourteen years before the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. The first NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade was comprised of a band of homesick, Irish ex-patriots and Irish military members serving with the British Army stationed in the colonies in New York.

I think the point was to be proud of who you are & where your from... are you suggesting any group that as a Pride Parades are Jealous... of the Irish?

I'm suggesting it is intentionally titled to counter a modern concept which you and the organizers don't understand. Though it is vaguely similar, in it is attempting to have a parade for someone that feels excluded. Except one group feels excluded from most things, and the second group only feels excluded from the first groups parade.

it's 2019.. what exactly are the LGBTQIA groups excluded from in society..?
answer: nothing.. they actually have privileges over other groups & special laws to protect them..

also, what part of LGBTQIA is describing Straight people...?
answer: that social group is supposed to be all inclusive.. yet they do not allow / include Straight people within their named ranks of Sexually Identifying social classes..

so.. who is being Excluded in this situation..??
answer: Straight People

what you are doing is criticizing Straight People for being Proud of being Straight.. your suggesting they should not be allowed or should be mocked for expressing their own pride about who they are...

why does this bother you so much...?
answer: you hate anything that is not left leaning... ( ..?.. )

Holding a parade because you like eggs is fine. Calling it an Egg Pride Parade is a sad cry for attention.

when you say that.. you are saying that about the LGBTQIA community as well ..
that when they hold a parade to show pride in who & what they are.. it is a 'sad cry for attention'...

you should be more accepting of people for who they are 2dimes.. your bigoted views are unacceptable..

the first 'Pride parade' was due to the protests & riots over the a police raid at the Stonewall Inn because the police were looking for the protest organizers known as the Mattachine Society.. their leader was a man name Harry Hay.. A Commuinist & Labor Leader with Mafia connections. during the 1950's - 1960's.. Most of the Mattachine founders were communists

The Stonewall Inn, located at 51 and 53 Christopher Street, along with several other establishments in the city, was owned by the Genovese crime family. In 1966, three members of the Mafia invested $3,500 to turn the Stonewall Inn into a gay bar, after it had been a restaurant and a nightclub for heterosexuals. Once a week a police officer would collect envelopes of cash as a payoff, as the Stonewall Inn had no liquor license. It had no running water behind the bar—used glasses were run through tubs of water and immediately reused. There were no fire exits, and the toilets overran consistently. Though the bar was not used for prostitution, drug sales and other "cash transactions" took place.

the Mafia owners of the Stonewall and the manager were blackmailing wealthier customers, particularly those who worked in the Financial District. They appeared to be making more money from extortion than they were from liquor sales in the bar.

The Stonewall riots (also referred to as the Stonewall uprising or the Stonewall rebellion) were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations by members of the gay (LGBT) community against a police raid that took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969
