Dudes voice is great for 76.
He doesn't take breaks except to sit to play piano.
There is no "backing player" for any of his bass parts, which is pretty standard for old dudes while they are singing, if not the whole show.
He plays Blackbird, solo.
He plays Harrison's Something in the way on ukulele. Even better.
He talks about George and John, plays a song each of there's, and pulls it off without it seeming cheesy. He doesn't oversell the emotion behind it.
He is into it for all 3 hours. Of course I am catching the 2nd show of the tour.
I had heard he never drinks water during the show because he thinks it looks unprofessional. He drank one time and made a big deal about it.
He told a lot of great stories, some I have heard before. But they are great stories.
He told a couple improv stories based on signs people were holding that made him think of something funny.
Manson killings in '69 caused him to never play Helter Skelter live, until about a year ago. It was wild to hear him play it.
Maybe I'm Amazed is one of my favorite vocal performances on record that Paul ever did. And he didnt disappoint.
Everyone knows this was written for his long time wife Linda who passed of course, so playing it 2 songs after he had just dedicated his new song "My Valentine" to his newish wife, who was at the show... I think everyone got it.
Ending the show with the last half of side B of the Beatles last album was pretty amazing.
So if he comes to your town, don't be put off by it being sold out, or him being old. Just go. I went with a $250 floor ticket to sell 50 below face value even though it has been sold out for months and similar tickets were selling for a grand 3 months before the show and 500 a week before. I had a damn paper ticket single floor and 2 nosebleeds for the wife and I. Apparently people don't like to go to shows alone, unless they are looking for a nice score. I gave it an hour. I do not have a career in scalping.
