This was meant to be a reply to something, but while googling Alpha Flight to see what it is, I accidentally closed the CC window and now I can't find what it was meant to be a reply to.

It’s related to the comment about your buddy who doesn’t care about anything without a puck.

It’s a comic book with a character names Puck.

I was kinda piggybacking on Jones’ joke about MidSummer Night Dream....but my joke wasn’t as good.

Yeah, I understood that it was a foil on the Jones joke. I just didn't have the appropriate background to evaluate it.

I googled Alpha Flight, found out three things: that it was typically about Logan's angst, that there were complaints about it being too Canadian and having too many gay characters. So I pondered how those could be connections, that MSND was also about angst in a way, that being too Canadian could refer to the original hockey reference, or that Puck was a fairy.

In fairness I only skimmed a few articles and didn't devote a huge amount of effort to the project, so it's not surprising that I failed...:)

Wolverine was (retconn’d) to be a member of Alpha Flight before he was an X-Man.
There was an early ‘new’ X-Men issue where they came to take him home and fought the X-Men.

They were basically Canada’s Avengers... so they were all Canadians. That was the point.

Puck was a midget gymnast. I don’t think he had any powers.

I think they only had one gay character. I think it was Northstar, a speedster. He may have been the first ‘openly gay’ Marvel superhero. He/Marvel got a lot of flack when they first had him ‘come out’... I don’t know when this happened, late 90’s or early 2000’s.

Oh yeah- Captain Marvel has been running them in the comics up in space for a while, as far as I remember. Puck also turned up in The Immortal Hulk, which is easily one of the best current Marvel series, especially if you find the Hulk comics kinda boring usually.
