I bought two beers and a shot at the store, $16. Today I spot a sign across the street two beers $5.
Well, isn't that just perfect!

To be fair, among the many things Americans love but don't really understand the quality of is beer. Bacon and cheese are 1 and 2 on the list.

STFU Symm! America leads the world in quality microbrews. Nowhere in the world can you go to a local liquor store and find literally hundreds of different beers.....only in Amerikkka.

Stay in the subject matter you know best, like beastiality and playing footsies with the guy in the next stall.

Good point Bern. My off spring were wondering why the highway rest area stalls were only about five foot ten inches tall in southern Utah. I had to explain they were trying to make it easier to see if some folks were using them as a recreation area instead of a place to evacuate their bowels.

As for the beer, I have to confess. I bought Dos Equis here. At home I have some Harp in the fridge. There are some decent beers in the US&A but their lagers are never my first choice.

Oddly enough I don't much go for lime in my mex beers yet enjoy bud light with lime on occasion.

My favorite from Engerland is Tetly's Cream Ale. That's good stuff!

If I was a one percent wealth holder like yourself I would drink more Caskade products from Tasmania.

Sigh. Again with the beer bashing. You can't judge 300 million people because bud and Coors and Miller are made here. Oregon is a huge microbrew state. Do some research. Of the 6 bars / restaurants near my house, 3 of which have extensive taps (20 plus), one (that's ONE) of them sells Coors light and you'll get massive shit if you order it. No other mass produced shit to be had.

So come here, go out for a beer, and start exclaiming in your fancy accents how Americans suck at making beer. You'll have an interesting time.

I just hate generalizing

So dimey, 2 pints of a nice craft beer and a shot of a nice single malt scotch would be close to $20. But at a dive bar, at happy hour, 2 pints of bud and a shot of well would be $8. Just depends.

And did you actually have 3 drinks in one sitting?? Isn't that like your months allotment??

It's okay, it's sym, his opinion is pretty much invalid regarding everything. Of his three snobbery points he's only right about cheese, maybe.

First, I'm complaining because I wanted a beer back in Utah but thought, "I'll wait, since we are going to Vegas where it should be cheap." Then I get robbed by the hotel before I even make it past check in or go donate to one of their slots.

Second, I only drank part of the fireball miniature, the dos Equis cans remain unopened since it was late when we arrived and there is no fridge in this room. They will be leaving Nevada tomorrow.

[accent] I wish a pint was 24 ounces.

They used to be 20 in Canader but now bars use the 16 ounce pint for their garbage drafts mostly produced by Labbats and Molson. [/accent]

I did have a can of Asahi from CVS $4.10 with tax then later a bottle of Dos Equis for free from Rio because Mrs dimes got a coupon from signing up for the Caesar's rewards card.

I almost had another beer with lunch at Bally's too since you seem concerned with my unusually huge Vegas binge style alc. consumption for the week.

Unfortunately they attempted to charge $7 for what appeared to be a 355ml bottle of junk I didn't want. I did enjoy a free tamato juice. Pronounce that however you like.

In conclusion apart from getting shook down a few times and not going for the buffet of buffets the trip has been pretty solid.

If you have difficulty having a good time in Vegas, you ain't trying. Did you hang out at Freemont Street?

We are having a great time.

I just want more free beer and my huge stomach back. Two plates of food used to be a warm up at a buffet or maybe a snack on the way before I got there.

Didn't make it to Freemont. Checked out Hoover Dam. Walked on the new bridge to look at it too. That was fun.

My son's going to vegas with some buds Sunday....we stayed at Circus Circus last year at this time. Beer was cheap, cocktails were free. Loved the indoor amusement park although those roller coasters with a belly fulla gin were a bit much  Won $600 bucks on 2 dollar slots that some old bum taught me how to use to advantage at 2 am...that was cool.

The room was good. Need ground transportation or something way up there. Maybe a nice mobility scooter.
