Politicians lie, that's not that unusual, but that doesn't make the US a dictatorship. One can perfectly be democratic with lying politicians. That being said, I agree one can put question marks next to american democracy considering they allow corporations to finance election campaigns. In most western nations this is outlawed and considered corruption.

Now, obviously corruption happens in every country, but having a system that considers this legal is unsettling.

I thought after 1871 the United States became a corporation. At least that's what the conspiracy is.

I recall something about that, a fellow on another blog Im on mentions that.

Personally, I have no doubt the U.S. is a dictatorship and not a democracy, I agree with Twain, "If voting mattered they wouldn't let ya do it."

In the article I posted they discuss how they know the U.S. is not a democracy from what the media does, there are other ways of seeing it tho.

The constitution says congress gets an opinion about war, in reality? nope, not required.
Seeing the constitution no longer exists is another way.

First of all, it's a "Democratic Republic" not a "Democracy."
Second the mainstream media has been filtering news that doesn't suit its agenda for as long as there was a media.

Here is a good example. The Holocaust, which was actively suppressed by the New York Times during the war, would have probably never been reported on at all until Eisenhower practically forced them to cover it, document and photograph everything.

But I'm not sure how we get to political bias in news reporting to the notion that the US is a dictatorship.

I'm pretty sure propaganda started when guys figured out how to smash berries and draw on rocks.

I could be wrong about the meeting, but there was a meeting in 1913 at jekyl island, thats the meeting Wilson betrayed he country and allowed the federal reserve. Some people argue thats what he was made president for, that and the war of course.

In any case, that may have been the meting they decided (they=bankers in this case) to find out the cost of buying every newspaper in the country, they couldnt believe how cheap it was and its been the same owners ever since.

I think that was Jekyl Island, books are written about it.

Not telling people about the "hollocaust" might have had something to do with the american public liking nazis, recall Prescot Bush made millions working with them and his son and grandson both became president.

Liking nazi stuff was far from frowned upon.

No it had little to do with the "american public." The early 21st century progressive / socialist movement was through the intellectuals, not the masses. History gets somewhat whitewashed after the second world war but "eugenics" was a common theme among progressives at the time. It was the United States who had adopted the purity laws (the Jim Crow laws) that even the Germans found too excessive. It was George Bernard Shaw in the UK that not only encouraged the killing of the unfit but also who was the first to propose lethal gas as a humane way of doing so.

The second world war was a battle between three different sects of the same philosophy (and one small island nation that longed to be a colonial empire again). One of those nations literally abandoned its "ideals" because capitalism promised to make a whole lot of tanks really fast. Another just relied on the fact that you really have to be a moron to invade them and actually win. (And they literally starved an entire nation to death diverting that nation's food to themselves but they won so let's forget about that part.)

There are a lot of thing we just don't mention anymore because we rather not remember them.

But the American Nazi Party was at best a fringe party. There were about 20,000 at the rally at Madison Square Garden in 1939. That sounds like a lot but the KKK had a "picnic" in New Jersey with the same number, which was right after the famous “Klanbake” 1924 Democratic Party National Convention.

20th century USA didn't like war. Isolationism was common. Woodrow Wilson had to outright lie to get his second term as president and then went against his promise to get America into the Great War. It took Pearl Harbor for FDR to get a good reason to get us into the war.

They were a legitimate party in a two party system? So they were on the ballot right next to the Dems and Reps eh? How many national elections did they win? How about state level elections?
