U.S. to Purchase Iron Dome Missile Defense System from Israel
TEL AVIV – The U.S. Army has purchased the Iron Dome from Israel, the missile defense system that for over a decade has been protecting Israelis from rockets launched from Gaza, Israel’s Defense Ministry announced Wednesday.

It's nice to know that the little nation in the Middle East can export things to the United States ... now if we could only get their wall technology.

"Since 2010, American funding for the system has totalled $5.5bn. In 2018, Congress apportioned an additional $705mn for Israeli air defense, according to Globes.

More than two-thirds of the components that make up the Iron Dome are produced by firms based in the US, then assembled in northern Israel."

I have thought for years the americans paid for this "iron dome" so I wondered about this U.S. buying it from Israel.

https://ifamericaknew.org/stat/cost.html
(adjusting for inflation, roughly $252.7 billion as of March 2018), and in the past few decades it has been on the order of $3.1 billion per year.[6] (In 2014, for example, this amounted to $8.5 million every single day, and today totals over $10.4 million per day)

So, the americans build the "iron dome" parts, give Israel millions every day and then buy the manufactured product they paid for in the first place, back from Israel.

Ya would think the least they could do is manufacture it in the states. maga ;)

Corruption to the extreme, they dont even try to hide it anymore.

What does America need the Dome for? Presumably to place all along the Latvian border in its latest attempt to antagonize Russia.

Maybe to install in Taiwan to antagonize China.

174 national governments around the world, plus the UN agree, with China.

And yet Taiwan still stands independent. hmmm..whos the fool? Taiwan or the rest of the world? Maybe Japan takes it back? Maybe the Dutch can go back. Hell just give it back to the natives before all the mass migration. Silly how one country can make claim to a piece of land with all the people in it when. Maybe Taiwan claims China.

Having the UN say something doesn't make it so.
(But this isn't a thread on global warming ... never mind.)

lookng over what happened in China, it looks to me the Communist Party of China won that dispute with the Kuomintang ROC government.
The states support Taiwan but ya gotta figure thats for their own interests.

U.S. power is diminishing, eventually the only support the U.S. will have is a threat to nuke China.

I would expect China to move into Taiwan once they are in a superior military position

They are about even now as the U.S. is spread so thin, but when the Chinese plans are fully implemented China will overwhelm the states.
Just my guess.

Maybe the states has alien technology, laser rays that turn whole populations into zombies while everyone sleeps.

If not he U.S. is pretty much roasty toasty. Just a matter of time.

China's aircraft carrier is based on old Russian designs. Their fighter jets are a joke against American jets.

Get your shit together China!

Fukn Chinese!

Yet another thread derailed by a string of Americans ranting over and over about how China is insignificant and definitely not worth even thinking about because it is so weak and that is why the spend no time ever thinking about it except all the time over and over and over and over..

lol
That Chinese carrier is a Russian design because it is a Russian built carrier.
They were decommissioning it when China figured they had a use for it, so with a few up grades it still floats. ;)

I wouldnt say Chinese fighters are a joke compared to U.S. fighters, that # 1 fighter of the U.S. the f 35 is a major turkey, the f22 is too expensive and production stopped after 187 which dont seem to be able to compete with other nations fighters.

Dont lose hope tho, the f-x will surely dominate the skys.

The f18 super hornet is ok, but the best fighters in the world now are the sukois and migs, the rest of the world has a long way to catch up.
