EU president systematically abuses women

The president of the European Union - a backwards, inward-looking, stagnant institution - has been accused by the UK's former Minister for Women and Equalities Amber Rudd of behaving in a backwards, 1970s, Saville-esque way towards women:

Amber Rudd has launched a scathing attack on the “ghastly” European commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, criticising his behaviour with women.

The work and pensions secretary hit out after footage from last week’s European council meeting in Brussels showed him playing with a woman’s hair.

Rudd, a former minister for women and equalities, branded the behaviour “grotesque” in an interview with the Daily Telegraph. She said he would probably have been subject to an official complaint if it happened in the UK.

The Hastings MP said Juncker “is ghastly. What I minded before that were those pictures of the way he was holding the prime minister. I did not like that.”

Discussing the incident with the woman’s hair on his arrival at the European council meeting, she added: “It’s grotesque. I mean, if that happened in our parliament I hope there would be a formal complaint.

Also he is such an alcoholic that his health has completely collapsed:

Juncker has repeatedly denied he has an alcohol problem. Schinas said of the comments from Dijsselbloem, “This matter has been clarified between the two presidents. We are not in the business of reopening issues that predated President Juncker’s appointment to the European Commission.”

But incidents such as the welcome ceremony for the EU summit in Latvia in 2015, during which Juncker awkwardly slapped and kissed arriving dignitaries, have done little to silence the talk about his sometimes eccentric behavior.

That's basically the entire reason the Netherlands exists, so their Prime Minister can hold Junker up and keep him from tipping over. Which is a good analogy for the whole of Europe.

What do you reckon: is he the inebriated granddad at the party, or Clinton falling into her medical evac vehicle?

Definitely the Clinton of Europe. I liked it when Peter Pellegrini (I think?) gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder and he goes gyrating side to side and Rutte had to grab him. Then at 1:25 he almost falls backwards into Pellegrini and Pellegrini just gives him a two-handed shove the other direction to re-balance him.

Have you not seen the clip of him walking onto the stage with odd shoes on, muttering incoherently for a couple of seconds and then walking off stage. His best speech to date.

Let's face it, he didn't get the job because he was the best person for it.
